Dog Friendly Chicago: Wiggly Field

It’s easy to let simple things get complicated.  The past week I scoured the city in search of the perfect couch, I worried about color, size, material and just about everything else you could think of.  Last night I finally realized there was only one criteria that really mattered

It’s easy to let simple things get complicated.  The past week I scoured the city in search of the perfect couch, I worried about color, size, material and just about everything else you could think of.  Last night I finally realized there was only one criteria that really mattered – would Eko think the couch is comfy?  Dogs are the world’s foremost experts in lounging, so I knew if I found a couch Eko liked that I would be in business.

Ladies and gentleman, I think we’re in business

The apartment is slowly coming along, but I thought it would be good to take a break from breaking my back, so Eko and I headed out this afternoon to meet the locals.  Less than a half-mile from the apartment, Wiggly Field is one of Chicago’s better known dog parks.  Chicago is crazy about the Cubs, so you better believe that even non-dog owners know of the dog park named after the ballpark.

Located in the shadow of the El trains, Wiggly Field is the quintessential urban dog park

Don’t tell me you forgot the chess pieces again!?

After romping in oceans and lakes, Eko figured this was just a big water bowl

But this local showed Eko how dogs cool down in the big city

New couches and new neighborhood friends in one day?  Not too shabby!  Considering that Eko and I spent 80% of last weekend sleeping and recovering from the road, I’m excited to see for the first time what a summertime Chicago weekend has to offer.  Let me know if you’re around and want to meet up!

I think you saved some of your best lines for Chicago. Can’t wait to see what happens when Eko encounters his first open fire hydrant.
