Pumpkins make very boring pets
I mean pet-THEMED pumpkins. My first thought was to carve Eko’s face in one of the pumpkins.
I had Eko pose for my masterpiece, but I quickly realized that artistically, I was in over my head. I decided to try a smaller canvas
For obvious reasons, this plan didn’t work either
While I wasn’t looking, Eko decided to attempt carving the pumpkin on his own. I appreciated the attempt, but his art was a little too abstract for my tastes.
I briefly considered a performance art piece with Eko as the middle head on a totem pole, but Eko quickly nixed that idea
My masterpiece is complete! …in my head at least.
Well, it looks like we’re back an square one. As I’ve noted before, I rank somewhere between a doorknob and a rock in terms of artistic talent, so I’m going to need to come up with an idea that’s a little bit better suited to my lack of talent. I have started to go through some other blogs for ideas, but if you have any suggestions for fun pet-themed pumpkin carvings, please let me know!
You could carve a bone on it, a cat would be good too. Hey i didn’t notice you posted what you guys decided to be for Halloween? Will it be a surprise on your Halloween blog?
You can try printing a pattern, transfer it to the pumpkin using pencil and then carving. Here are a few examples:

This is one is very similar to Eko:

This one looks more like a cartoon of Scoobie Doo (also a cartoon, lol!):

Eko Miranda with a pumpkin hat.
Have you seen those kits that they have for kids? With the orange tools? (I didn’t mean that in a bad way!) Those make carving super easy!
You can also trace a photo on your pumpkin and cut that way…..
Or….PAINT the pumpkin and put on a hat, ears…you know….sort of like a snow man only pumpkin style!
Always laugh at how Eko looks so worried..hehe. Evelyne sure has some good ideas there. I’m still trying to decide too. Maybe a fire hydrant would be pretty easy and something Eko might appreciate: There’s a stencil on this site for free

Eko makes me smile. What a sweetie.
Mummy’s not good at carving either and we’re supposed to be entering competition on Sammy’s blog…I sense disaster bol
Good luck with yours!
I’ve been wondering what Bailey thinks of all of the gourds and pumpkins around our house, right now. Quite a few are well within nibble range, too! Maybe he’s totally “over” pumpkin, after eating it pureed for months last year when his belly was acting up. That, and rice. Ick.
