Pets Don’t Care How Much Money You Have

I didn’t win the lotto.  My dreams of going on safari were shattered.  Luckily Eko was there to console me:

“There, there, Will.  Don’t cry.”

But like I realized yesterday, you don’t need millions of dollars to lead an exciting life.  Having a pet makes every day interesting.  The other great part about pets is that they don’t care how much money you have, or what you do for a living or what kind of fashion sense you have.  I only mention this last part because I dress like I’m colorblind and my wardrobe choices often embarrass my girlfriend.  Never Eko though!  Our pets simply want our love, care and attention – the rest is just details.

Pets are there through thick and thin

And they never judge you, no matter how crazy your ideas may be

So, yeah, I didn’t hit the jackpot.  But Eko makes me feel like a winner every day!

ohhh, Will, I didn’t win either, but my little mutt dog, the enormous rabbit and the cat didn’t care, like you said, pets are way more valuable than money…man, the first picture worth more than 2 trillion $$, how did you ever get Eko to do that?????

  2. You said it will – we are worth nothing without them. Now Eko on the other hand is worth millions – we’re sure a model/acting agency will snap him up soon.

  3. Judy says:

Myu dogs console me and support me when no one else is there!!

  4. If I win the lottery in here I’ll pay for your Safari, I’ll be filthy rich or plain filth just like Doggy.

  5. raisingdaisy says:

You said it! I always think of how truly nonjudgmental our pets are when I’m really sick with a bad flu or something and look worse than something a cat would drag in….but there’s Daisy, just as happy to see me, raining lovies all over the place. There’s nothing better than a pet!

  6. Evelyne says:

I LOVE the picture of Eko consoling you… He’s the best! 🙂

  7. Victoria says:

well put Will! Couldn’t agree more

  8. catchatcaren says:

And you BOTH make US feel like “winners” every day! That first photo is too much!

  9. sethsnap says:

    Cute photos! 🙂

  10. Uncle Austin says:

Yours and Ekos picture embodies the emotions of 300 million Americans last night.

  11. idiotprufs says:

Which are the good times, the thick or the thin?

  12. Mustang.Koji says:

    That first photo….. Priceless.

  13. onebluedog says:

Eko is definitely worth a zillion times more than the lottery! Money can buy tasty treats and super fun toys, but it sure can’t get you a true blue buddy like Eko 🙂

  14. We won: 16 bucks – what an untold wealth ;o) Fortuna is a beast! but I think you already got the Jackpot: EKO!

  15. Marcela says:

Lol. Yes, our canine companions are always there for us, regardless of wether or not we have money or not. Looking for unconditional love? A dog will always deliver. Your post is so funny:)

  16. I also was hoping to win so that we could launch a foundation for, among other things, dog rescue! But alas…your post is right on. 😉

  17. Boomdeeadda says:

Lot’s of people have money, but aren’t happy. I’m with you Will, no amount of money can buy you the love and adoration of a faithful pet.

  18. Just to be the devil’s advocate (I’m thinking of your choking Santa photo), our dogs might care about how much money we have. Every time I order something online and a box arrives, Optimus claims it as his until he figures out it’s not full of Optimus treats and toys. He’s looking for a steady stream of Optimus boxes. Does Eko do something similar?

  19. Carrie says:

    Thank you for everything.

  20. Carrie says:

    Love this site.

  21. Oh, how we love those pictures. What would we do without our sweet companions? Hugs and nose kisses from me and my crew!

  22. Carol says:

Ah those pics are brilliant! Loving the blog.

  23. Eleenie says:

Heehee! I don’t know what made me smile more, Eko consoling you or the fact that every male I’ve ever known is colour blind! It’s true though, pets love you whatever. Aren’t they great!
