Eko-locks And The Three Christmas Trees

To spiff up the background for our Christmas cardĀ Eko and I took a visit to a garden center a few miles north of us. Well, first I took Eko for a walk to relieve himself because I didn’t want to ruin Christmas by bringing Eko into a forest with a full tank.

The nose knows, so I let Eko lead the way and sniff out the best tree

Eko dove headfirst into the job of finding us a tree

We found one tree that was too big, one too small and then one that was just right

I did the heavy lifting and Eko acted asĀ management. Ā Somehow this is how Ā the jobs always seem to get divided between us

Eko checked our stand for any leaksĀ

Rhodesian Ridgeback, dog adventureTeamwork: I tightened the stand and Eko stuck his head in the middle of the tree. Ā Both were critical to our success…says Eko at least

Boom, we’re in business! Ā Now we just have to wait for the tree to soak up some water and then we can set up lights and have the perfect backdrop for our Christmas card. Ā If you haven’t picked up a tree yet, I highly recommend bringing your pup with you. Ā The customers and employees both got a kick out of Eko weaving through the trees and Eko obviously had a blast.

For our next trick we will hopefully keep Eko from knocking the tree over!

Comments for Eko-locks And The Three Christmas Trees

  1. We’re with Eko on the management requirement – humans need that slight nudge to get it right. A Christmas card is a very important moment after all and all the props have to be just so šŸ˜‰

  2. …ahmmm Eko have you signed all the trees in the garden center?

  3. I love how in the last picture it looks like you and Eko are wearing the same shirt! hahaha

  4. catchatcaren says:

What fun! It’s times like these that I wish that I wasn’t Jewish lol

  5. Eko looks like a great helper!

  6. It’s always a plus, having a canine unit in tow to supervise. I never leave home without the boss. (Bud, my shelter dog)

  7. Boomdeeadda says:

That tree lot had some gorgeous looking loot. Glad to see Eko’s feeling better, I love the tree stand inspection…cute.

  8. Robyn says:

Will–Love seeing that Eko gets to help pick out the family Christmas tree. My husband I have made it a tradition to bring our two black labs, Jasmine Tiana, with us to help get the Christmas tree. They love it!

  9. onebluedog says:

That looks fun! And Eko picked a really good tree šŸ™‚ I bet he is going to have so much fun decorating!

  10. I can’t stop laughing at that last photo. Your blog is always a fun place to be.
