Eko-locks And The Three Coats

During winter months, my apartment is ruled by the Blanket Monster, but once he leaves the lair for a walk or adventure, trying to use blankets for warmth becomes quite impractical.  Normally, when we head out for a walk Eko darts out the door, but I know it’s coat season when he grimaces and tiptoes his way out instead.

For those in the market for a coat for their dog, make sure you try it before you buy it!  Last year, Eko had a full fashion show as we looked for the perfect coat.

This Burberry look was quite fashionable, but unfortunately the coat wasn’t very warm

We found a warmer coat, but it was too small

This Chilly Dog jacket was perfect for Eko.  Warm, waterproof and no need to hassle with fitting his legs through any holes

Eko loves his coat and knows that any time I grab it he has a winter adventure waiting just outside the door.  Unfortunately, my attempts to get Eko to appreciate the warmth of a indoor winter sweater have not gone as well.

You know that face kids make when, against their will, their mom puts them in a sweater?  Turns out that dogs can make that face too!

“I am the Blanket Monster! No sweater can hold me!”

Oh well, maybe he’ll grow into it?  I used to hate sweaters too.  Anyone out there have any other winter gear that their pup likes?
