Road Trip Adventures In 2013

With 2013 underway, there is a familiar smell in the air.

“Smell that, Will?  It’s the smell of a road trip!”

Sure, Eko and I traveled over 15,000 miles last year, but as far as 2013 is concerned, our odometer reads straight zeroes.  Today we spent some time researching some (slightly shorter) road trips that we can line up this year.

We consulted every guide book

Carefully studied every map

And mapped out some possible trips

So far I’m thinking about a day trip to Starved Rock State Park, a visit to St. Louis for the Beggin Pet Parade and possibly a winter weekend trip up to Minnesota so that Eko can romp in some serious snow.  As always, suggestions are always welcome!

Does anyone else have road trips planned this year?  If you are bringing a pet along for the first time, you can check out some of my tips here and here.

  1. Cool blog! I am a traveling dog myself, although, I have become rather stationary the past year. You two need to go to Europe where us dogs are welcome all over the place, heck in puppy school we spent classes learning to ride the bus, train, elevators, going to the store, etc. I miss that about Europe, we always went where mom went but here we are usually not allowed. 🙁

    • Oh man, that sounds awesome. Eko and I have had the chance to ride on trolleys, subways, trains and even boats, but they have been unique experiences. It would be amazing to travel through Europe where those adventures are much more common. Hopefully one day we will get to make that trip!

  2. Hey Eko, Jet here. Hi Mr. Will.

Mom says St. Louis is perfect with the big PURINA center of the Universe! (She went to college there!) You know how you were looking at S.Beach in photo 1? Well, if you make your way, give us a shout! After late March/April, best forget it, tooooooo hot!
