[VIDEO] Eko Test Drives His New Dog Boots
After two days of testing (Eko might call it torture) I gave Eko the day off from wearing boots. Despite his moping, the little guy came a long way in just two booted excursions, and he was well rewarded for his efforts. I got as much video of the boot
Way to go buddy! You are looking really sporty for winter now!!! Just be happy he hasn’t gotten some stupid hat with a duck on it or something to wear!
I had to watch this 3 times … this was so worth the wait…Eko kicking out his heels, and especially the high stepping he does, like a Lippizzaner stallion…it’s priceless! and he does come around so nicely at the end…
he looks so cute – and happy – great job getting him acclimated to the boots! you are a great trainer
Yay! Kudos to you both, you succeeded!
Smiling! Scratch that Laughing out Loud!
this was just too cute! The music, Eko…everything! When you ran down the road in the snow it reminded me of a scene from The Christmas Story with that music lol. Have a great weekend!
We have been considering getting Arri a pair to wear when she goes hiking with us, as she has stepped on thorns and sharp rocks before. As soon as we pulled out the short needle she wanted to be put right back down and started pulling on her leash for us to hurry up :). I think we might invest in a pair…thanks for the video!
He learned fast! Good for Eko!
Awwww…. I’m happy Eko got used to it and that his owie has healed well!
Doesn’t he wear them well at the end! Way to go Eko
Eko you are too cute doing your high stepping. I’ve seen it many times before with my own dogs, but once outside they forget they are on.

So funny! Reminds me of when I tried to “walk my cat” on a leash outside. She cemented herself to the sidewalk and refused to move — permanently. At least you finally got Eko moving. Good job!
Thank you so much for sharing the video! So adorable! Isn’t it funny how much our dogs are like our kids…first there is refusal/protest followed by “If you’re gonna make me do THIS, then I’m not gonna do THIS!”. Finally, redirection (i.e. the irresistable snow!) does the trick! 😉
Nice ridgeback. He looks well loved and cared for.
Laughed the whole way through. Thanks! Nothing funnier than a dog trying to get used to boots. Well done Eko on mastering them eventually.
Great – must laugh& laugh. You are a great team with or without boots :o)
Well done, Will! Now Eko’s ready for Chicago’s winter streets…
Luckily Eko would follow you to the end of the earth, boots or no boots. Made me smile!
Eat the camera!!!! – Lulu Belle (But lick the Cameraman)
Aw, look at Eko go! He does a pretty great sad face at the beginning too…I think better than me even! 😀
You have done well. Now its time for a treat 🙂
