Valentine’s Day might just be the most pressure packed holiday there is. As a lot of commercials tell it, how you show people you love them doesn’t matter the other 364 days of the year! Even though Valentine’s Day is over hyped, I have to admit that I do enjoy the holiday as a time to remember to tell the family, friends and significant others in your life how much they mean to you.
Last year I was on the road for Valentine’s Day and didn’t have much time to pull together a card for Emily, who was gracious enough to support my decision to drive around the country with Eko. I was struggling with ideas when I finally realized that I should just do what I always do when I need to get something done – rely on Eko’s good looks and charm! After a quick trip to the pet store and convenience store, the photo shoot background for my card was all set.
“Stinks Jr.” is one of Eko’s many nicknames, derived from his days as a whining little stinker. These days he can still be a whining stinker, but not a little one!
I imagined a photo shoot with Eko posed perfectly next to the card. Eko had other ideas.
“Hey Will, instead of posing next to the treats, how about I just take one instead?”
“Are you sure you said ‘stay?’ because I’m almost positive you said ‘eat the treat.'”
“This Valentine’s Day card is delicious!”
The card didn’t go exactly as planned, but it was still a hit. You just can’t resist that four-legged charm!
This is Eko’s “You’re welcome for landing you such a great girl” face
If you are in need of your own personal cupid, look no further than your pet. If Eko could save the day for a knucklehead like me, then anything is possible. Pets are the world’s foremost experts in unconditional love, so they are sure to make your Valentine’s Day a success. And of course, don’t forget to share the love right back!
Anyone else have pet-themed holiday plans or success stories?
Nice idea! Sloppy wet in person dog kisses are always a hit too 😉
Eko sure was an adorable puppy…I’d forgive anything after seeing that face:)
I prefer jewelry drapedon my dogs!!
great pic – he is such a little cutie- well big cutie and Emily sure looks smitten!
She is adorable, so is Eko and so are YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for making me smile 🙂
Steffi was my first Valentine’s present after we were married. My husband said she was the gift of love that keeps on loving. Over 13 years later, I couldn’t agree more. She’s really IS our little girl. Though she’s slowing down, she’s still a little lover, happy to give kisses at any time.
Awwww! Too cute!
Cute photo of the love(s) of your life! Since everyday is just like Valentine’s day for the Diva’s we are going to leave them to snooze in the nightly snuggle pile and head out to wine and dine……a little Mommy time…yeehaw

Good thinking, Will! And since Emily is still around, I’d say Eko’s Valentine’s Day card was a great success 😀
So very creative! Nothing says love like a puppy dog, even one named Stinks Jr. 🙂
