Rhodesian Ridgeback

Eko’s naps start peacefully, but they often don’t stay serene for very long…

Rhodesian RidgebackThis is a move I like to call the “upside-down zombie robot.”  While in this position Eko will frequently growl and move all his legs.  My guess is that he is on the hunt in dreamland Rhodesian RidgebackI call this one “the octopus.”  It is usually accompanied by frantic twitching of Eko’s paws, so my guess is that these are digging dreams Rhodesian Ridgeback

And, well, I don’t really have a name for this one, but Eko was whimpering, growling and his whole body was twitching so it must have been a pretty interesting dream!

Does your pet “sleepwalk/sleeptalk?”

You take the best pictures of Eko. He is so funny. So are you Will:)

  2. nerdgrl says:

Steffi shakes and twitches so much when she dreams, the first time I saw her do this I thought she was having a stroke! Her eyelids go a mile a minute but then she’ll quiet down. I don’t know whether she’s dreaming or going through the REM portion of sleep.

  3. emma says:

My sister does some running stuff with her legs, or her paws vibrate and she sometimes talks or squeaks in her sleep. Mom says that I don’t do any of that. I groan sometimes and when I am really tired I snore like an old man.

  4. The first picture could be a squirrel dream :o) I can’t tell my dreams in public hehe

  5. PigLove says:

Eko – you are one peaceful looking pooch there sleeping. I *know* I dream. Most of the time, it’s when I’m on the sofa with mom. I feel so relaxed there that I can finally ‘let go’. I dream of the normal things – running, eating and rolling around. XOXO – Bacon

  6. Eleenie says:

I have a suspicion that Eko and my Bessie dream the same dream 🙂

  7. Joan says:

My Golden and my Lab often dream in unison, I like to think that they are off on a great adventure together!

  8. Dawn says:

LOL! Those are so so cute! You know a dog is loved when they can sleep so comfortably in such vulnerable positions. What do my dogs dream about? Im sure they dream about food or chasing bunnies.

  9. catchatcaren says:

Eko is one of the most expressive dogs I have ever seen. Dakota is super boring lol

  10. Mrs Fever says:

    LOVING “The Octopus”. 😀

The Upside Down Zombie Robot: That’s pretty much what *I* look like, round about 2:00am. Complete with the growling noises and leg movements. 😉

    Great photos!

  11. Boomer and Dottie certainly have their dreams! More often than not it looks like Boomer is running and playing in his sleep while he gives out the occasional yip. Dottie on the other hand will moan and groan but she appears to be having a great time digging and playing or chasing her favorite squirrels.

  12. hahaha, I think the last picture is him staring at a big steak!

  13. Boomdeeadda says:

I like the ‘upside-down zombie robot’ with Eko’s tooth sticking out…hahha. Our Bud used to be like a swimmer on his pillow in his sleep which made sense we lived at a lake…just keep swimming.

  14. onebluedog says:

Hehehe, I would call that last one the “squish face” 🙂

I have lots of dreams too and they sound a lot like Eko’s! And sometimes I stick my tongue out make funny noises with my mouth. Mom thinks I might be suckling in my sleep like when I was a tiny pup…

  15. caitlin says:

YES! Chick does the whimper one a lot, but it sounds a lot like little hiccups and her whole body twitches. I wish they could just wake up and tell us what their dream was about!

  16. I twitch in my sleep too, mummy thinks I dream of chasing pigeons and squirrels!
