[VIDEO] Eko VS The Kong Wobbler
As a puppy, Eko didn’t eat his food, he inhaled it. Like a magic trick, the food would be there one second and gone the next. I tried a few specialty bowls to slow him down, but Eko responded by simply flipping the bowls over. Luckily, the problem fixed itself
Eko is such a good sport! You’re right though – it does really help to slow eating down and wear them out.
I am a super pokey eater and my sister is too but mom had one of those for Katie when she was young. She put her food in it when she was leaving for a while so it gave Katie something to do while mom was out besides getting into trouble. My cat bro could use one actually, he doesn’t even chew his cat food, just gulps it down!
Love watching Eko try and worm under the chairs…Looks like the Wobbler did the trick for you
That’s a very cool video – I’m hungry now too :o) I have such a thingy too and I like it to throw it against the furnitures and walls :o)
I bought the Wobbler when he first adopted Tonto. He would eat his meals in 2-seconds flat! We haven’t used it in awhile since he now eats it in about 15-seconds 😉 but you’re right, it can be distracting on hard wood. Plus, all the nose/tongue marks are a lot more visible on hardwood! 🙂
Good job, Eko! Yeah, we give Juno half her breakfast in her bowl and the other half in a ‘Tricky Treat Ball’ – 3 fill-ups equals the other half of her breakfast. She now knows she’s done after 3! It makes us feel better that she’s eating more slowly and you’re right, it has the added benefit of tiring them back out 😉
Great video! And I’m still chortling over the homemade dog treats one too 😆 Love it!
Sage was a speed eater too and we used a combination of 4 different feeders like the one you used. Some were harder to get out than others, which added to her fun.
We have tried and failed to rehab Titan of his food inhalation. I’ll be ordering him a wobbler today!
Dakota has ALWAYS been a speed eater and he has a KONG Wobbler and I have NEVER thought of this! I have to give it some thought because I think he might find it to be rather upsetting. Not sure. Thanks for the great idea though!
Strangely enough, Lola is more interested in her food when I put it in a dispensing toy. She loves that kind of play time.
Eko a good job figuring out the Wobbler! I love my Wobbler too, but mom says I am too good at it now and she is always trying to come up with some scheme to make is trickier…
I think those are awesome and you’re right, such a simple idea. I liked the background music you used too Will, perfect.
Giggles…another great video Eko!!!! We know that “it’s time for dinner stare” too!!!!
Looks like fun!
I haven’t seen the kong wobbler here but I have purchased other, similar treat ball items. They work wonders to keep the dogs brain active and working. Just as tiring as a good walk. Great choice.
We have one of these. It’s a nice distraction for our trio when they’re going crazy!
This is such a great idea for dogs that wold down their food! I love your video btw Eko is so cute! This is great, keep it up!
Hey will I already left a comment but I think what you are doing is great! I love the video, I was wondering if I would be able to email you and ask you a few questions, if you have the time. This is Leah from http://kirbysdawgblog
Raffles and Zena have a Wobbler each – they are great.
I need to get two of these for our two hounds. If you blink, you miss them eating! Thanks for this tip!!
They say speed eating is the cause of bloat, which can be life threatening and very expensive. Keep up the battle
