Eko has certainly grown up since I got him, but that doesn’t mean he’s grown old. Some of his puppy habits are just as strong today as they were the day I brought him home.
Here’s Eko, the junior-size solar panel, as a puppy
And here’s Eko, the deluxe-size solar panel, a couple weeks ago
Unfortunately, we haven’t had much sun around these parts since the above photo was taken. Chicago hasn’t quite figured out how to shake off winter – it’s been cold and/or gray for a while now and Eko is less than pleased.
“Will, call Mother Nature and remind here that it is JUNE in less than a week”
Eko was on the couch so long that I think he started to melt into it. Can you find his fourth leg??
Eko had a bath only a few days ago, so this morning I was not eager to bring him out for a muddy run. In retrospect, I would have brought him since he decided to demonstrate another puppy habit while I was out.
Eko’s logic: There’s been no sun, so clearly Will has no need for sunglasses
Was Eko bored? Upset? I don’t know for sure. I just know that he stole my sunglasses from the same place he left them untouched for over a year. I lose my cool sometimes, so I can’t fault Eko too much for the same (although I did have a few choice words when I discovered my mangled glasses). However, I can put my next pair of sunglasses in a new place just to be safe. I love my forever-puppy, but today was a nice reminder that there are some puppy habits I am glad are mostly behind us!
