How Will Our Friends Find Us Tomorrow?

The Fourth of July holiday is here, the grocery stores are packed with party hosts and most of my friends are placing cardboard decoys at their desks in hopes of ducking out of work a little early.  Eko and I, along with half the city, hope to hit the beach tomorrow – weather permitting.  The trouble on holiday beach days is that it can be tough to find your friends amongst the crowd.  This year I hoped to eliminate that problem with a trip to the thrift shop.  I decided to get some digs that would help us stand out from the crowd.  As I’m sure you know, all our wardrobe decisions are voted on, so Eko came along to help out. I suggested holiday cowboy hats, but Eko’s eyes clearly said it wasn’t going to happen

I thought a couple shark hats would be perfect for the beach but since Eko was more interested in taking a bite out of the shark I nixed the idea

When in doubt, you have to go with the tried and true, red, white and blue.  We bought a few American-flag-themed items, but I’m just not sure we got enough.

I worried our outfits weren’t festive enough, but Eko reassured me otherwise

Emily said that our outfits are “bright enough to bring down a helicopter” so I think our friends won’t have trouble spotting us!  Mission accomplished.

Anyone have big plans for the holiday?

We are having a dog yard party of sorts. I have 2 friends staying with us, so four dogs total. We will have out my pool, get some tennis ball and frisbee going, definitely chase and wrestle and of course, homemade patriotic ice cream bones! Have fun at the beach!

  7. OMGoodness, Eko! I am so jealous of your flag hat and suspenders! Both of you look amazing. So patriotic. Have a great 4th!

I love the way Eko tilts his head a bit for the photo- Strike the Pose! You guys rock! Have a great time at the beach & 4th of July festivities. (It’s a good thing Emily’s there to keep you two patriotic pals grounded or you might get some silly idea involving rockets/fireworks/other 🙂 & That’s not a suggestion!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July, Eko and Will ! Tuffy seemed to have a good one until my new neighbor (and bff) brought her long-haired Chihuahua over to visit. They had planned to stay the night since their furniture hasn’t been moved here yet; but, Tuffy had other ideas. He growled and hissed at “Sassie” every time she moved. I guess we have a lot of adjusting to do until these two get used to the new (but old) friends. They played together as kitten and puppy; but that was a long time ago.
