Some Things Never Change

I was flipping through puppy photos of Eko when I got a funny feeling of deja vu. Where have I seen these exact same photos before, I wondered.  It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I chuckled when I realized that the puppy Eko once was
I was flipping through puppy photos of Eko when I got a funny feeling of deja vu. Where have I seen these exact same photos before, I wondered.  It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I chuckled when I realized that the puppy Eko once was is oftentimes the puppy he still is.   Rhodesian Ridgeback, adventure, chicago, dogs, marking our territroy

A puppy never forgets his favorite spot to sunbathe

Eko is just as happy to use your torso as a bed today as he ever was

Smushing hugs from my sister?  Those never go out of style

Emily’s lap seemed like a comfy spot the first day Eko met her.  And well, if it ain’t broke, no need to fix it

And of course, you’re never too big or too old for a hug!

So next time I miss my little puppy I will remember he never left me!

Comments for Some Things Never Change

  1. Kuruk says:

A little patience and you the bone! Woooowooooo, Ku

  2. You really can resist THIS eyes? Even on the picture I started nearly to whine with Eko. But at last he got THE BONE. Great!

  3. Well done Eko! Big sisters are mean machines if disobeyed.

  4. PigLove says:

aaww Eko – patience is so a virtue and you waited out. You are awesome. I on the other hand would have been chasing Scout down the hall trying to get said bone all to myself. What – don’t judge. I’m a pig afterall – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

  5. Patience is a virtue as they say – and big sisters can be bitches…so be careful Eko 😉

  6. Such a polite little man. He knows stealing is wrong. Manipulating is so much better….

  7. onebluedog says:

Wow, Eko has the patience of a saint! And I don’t know how Scout could resist Eko’s sad puppy eyes!

  8. Sage says:

Oh, Eko. I feel your pain. But you waited it out and won in the end!

  9. Emmadog says:

My cat bro Bert bosses my big sister around all the time…funny how size doesn’t seem to be a determining factor!

  10. I am grinning ear to ear!!! You are right about the big sister thing! I am 6 yrs older than my younger brother and he is bigger but I am ALWAYS the big sister!

  11. Eve says:

I know I loved the pitiful help me picture! But he must really respect Scout as he usually steals from the pups at the beach. LOL! Love the help whine too!

  12. Mustang.Koji says:

Nice sequence of photos to augment your cute story!

  13. raisingdaisy says:

Oh I just love this post Will! The comparisons are so perfect and I love the differences yet similarities between Puppy Eko and Big Boy Eko, especially that second set. He sure loves to snuggle with you!

  14. That was a wonderful “time-warp”-post! Easy was a lapdog as he was a puppy and he is one till today. Even with 88 lbs. It’s not really comfy, but I can save the money for the gym :o)

  15. When do any of us ever really grow out of the need for a cuddle? Just gorgeous!!

  16. Emma says:

Mom always likes to look at photos of us sleeping as puppies and then as adults. We seem to love the exact same positions. We are all just large puppy dogs 😉

  17. Those are such cute pigtures!! Mummy says she loves looking back and seeing how much whee have grown but whee don’t think our changes are quite a BIG as Eko!!

  18. Mags Corner says:

Those are all such cute pictures. You have proof that Eko has not changed and is still your puppy, he just got bigger. : ) Hugs and nose kisses

  19. Mustang.Koji says:

    What a sweet pictorial!!

  20. I love the puppy vs the grown up Eko pictures. When I look back at this past 1 1/2 and see how big my Bella has gotten compared to when she was 8 weeks old, it is amazing. Enjoying your blog and seeing Eko’s take on the world!! http://www.justasktheridge.blogspot.com

  21. Sarah says:

What Breed Is This?. My Dog Looks Identical But I Know Shes Not A Ridgeback Because She Doesnt Have The Famous Ridge.
