Can you guess what this is a photo of?
If you guessed “Eko with all his stuff packed neatly away” you would be right, but if you guessed “wishful thinking” you would be even more right!
Eko doesn’t have a lot of toys and bones, but I swear it is like he strategically places them on the floor exactly where he knows I’m going to walk. Â It’s especially bad in the mornings when I’m not fully awake.
I have been wobbled by the wobbler
Slipped on a stuffy
Introduced the bones in my feet to the bones (and antler) on the floor
And Eko’s tennis ball has sent me rolling over myself
The master of disaster with the tools of his trade
I do my best to keep Eko’s toys organized, but they never stay in one place for long. And of course as soon as I put the toys away it just happens to be the exact moment Eko wants to take them all out and play.
It only occurred to me recently that I might be able to save myself some time (and twisted ankles) if I taught Eko the “clean up” command I have seen other dogs learn. I’m off to start on some research, but does anyone have experience teaching their dog to put toys away? Â I would love to hear any suggestions and recommendations. Â Thanks!
