After rigorous testing (a trip to the dog beach) and with the use of the best scientific equipment available (my camera) I believe I have discovered a mathematical truism to identify how happy a dog is. Simply put, a dog’s happiness is inversely proportional to the number of their paws that are touching the ground. The fewer the number of paws on the ground, the happier the pup.
Allow my research assistant to demonstrate.
With all four paws touching the ground, my assistant was clearly not very happy
As his first paw left the ground I could see a noticeable improvement in happiness
With two paws off the ground, happiness doubled
With three paws off the ground, happiness tripled
And with four paws off the ground, Eko’s happiness was off the charts
The study also conclusively showed that dog happiness is fully transferable. Nothing makes me smile quite like watching Eko fly across the sand. Apologies to all other scientists who thought they had a shot at this year’s Nobel prize. Eko and I have this one locked up!
