I have been on the hunt for a new dog bed for a couple weeks now. Things were getting desperate around here while I searched.
Eko demonstrated how uncomfortable his thinks his old bed is
My friend Will visited and Eko used him as an improvised bed for a while
After looking through all the recommendations I received (thank you for those!) I decided to go with a Big Barker memory foam bed. It was expensive, but it comes with a ten year guarantee that the foam will hold its shape. Between the three beds Eko has already gone through, I spent probably about $100, so I think in the long run I will come out on top with this purchase. The bed also gets outstanding customer reviews so that I also helped me feel confident about the investment.. I ordered the bed and Eko waited expectantly for his comfy, new, BIG, bed to arrive.
“What do you mean this is my new bed?”
The bed shipped vacuum sealed, so Eko was a bit wary of whether it would work out. Once I opened the seal and let the bed unfold however, it was a completely different story.
Once unpacked the Big Barker lives up to its name. The seven inch orthopedic foam makes the bed both sturdy and comfortable
Especially for large dogs, a good memory foam bed provides crucial body support. When Eko gets older, the foam bed will be easy on joints as well. I tossed Eko’s favorite winter blanket on top of the Big Barker and Eko tossed himself on the bed immediately after. It may have hurt my pocket now, but I think I made a great investment.
Eko thinks so too
These days Eko sleeps much better and I rest a lot easier too. Thanks again to everyone who offered suggestions and advice!
looks very nice – i need to get a new bed for one of my pups so i looked it up – it was 239.95 on amazon.com – thats certainly not a cheap bed – but Eko does look very happy
It’s just like a human mattress Mom says. If you buy cheap, it won’t last and your back will hurt (especially as you get older), so it is better to invest in a good mattress. Think about how much time he spends on his bed…it will be well used.
That is such a great picture of Eko looking puzzled/expectant 🙂
I purchased myself a memory foam bed about 5 years ago and it is hands down, the best thing I ever bought myself!!
Provided Eko doesn’t eat it, it will pay you back a hundred fold in terms of longevity and Eko’s health – it sure has made a difference to my old bones!!
That’s a super bed. Have sweet dreams Eko! First I thought it looks like Pasta di Sepia LOL
YAY!!! So happy you found a bed that is suitable for King Eko!!! I mean that in a most sincere way!
Finally! I was starting to worry! My 87 lbs baby-dog has a TempurPedic from Orvis. There is NOTHING better. I lay down on it myself and can feel how great it is. After, HIS parents (me and my husband) are sleeping on a TempurPedic – why not him?
Congratulations on your new bed, Eko! It’s great that you found such a good bed, even though the price is, at first, a little overwhelming. I agree that it’s worth it. We humans love our memory foam mattresses and pillows too, so if you broke the bank and end up living in a cardboard box, at least you know you can share Eko’s bed and be comfy! 😉 LOL
Oh Will, you are the best dad ever:) Alex had a total of 4 beds, but now that my girl is a senior I decided to buy an orthopedic bed for her, and she loves that bed more than her other 4 beds. Yes, it was a little expensive, but well worth it.
Aw, Eko looks like a king on his throne!
Looks heavenly! If Bailey didn’t spend so much time in OUR bed, I’d consider getting him one 🙂
Very nice bed sweet Eko…enjoy! Hugs and nose kisses
That’s the coolest shipping package ever! WOW, it all fit in there, amazing. We had the Memory foam for Buddy too, he loved it!
