The snow is piled so high in my apartment complex that Eko got stuck on the way out this morning!

Eko pondered how to get himself out of the snow bank

It’s a new year and that means our adventure odometer for 2014 was reset to 0000. While most of Chicago is content to huddle inside for the day, Eko was eager for his first romp of the year.

Nothing like having the park to yourself

Eko blazed a trail through the snow.  He was flying up and down the park at breakneck speeds but luckily he comes equipped with specialized braking technology…

Two big wind foils!

It has to stop snowing eventually. I hope.  But until then I know at least one pup who is happy to let it snow.  Hope everyone had a great start to the new year!

  2. Victoria says:

Muffin loves the snow – can’t wait to play in it and constantly goes to the door and barks to get out into it….now where are Eko’s boots (sorry being nosy)- doesn’t he need them for snow?

  3. writetowag says:

Awesome!!!! What a way to ring in the New Year!!!! Enjoy Eko!!!! We got snow here in TN this morning and man the wind is ruthless and bitter cold…Trev was a tremble bear this am!!!!! Stay warm !!!!

  4. runningwithellen says:

Thank you for visiting my blog–love you and Eko all year long!

  5. Julia says:

What a therapeutic post this is! I love the way dogs enjoy life. Thanks for sharing Eko with us. We lost our canine family member of 16+ years last June, and health crises have prevented us adopting another dog for now, so I enjoy visiting with dogs from other families, online and in person!

  6. Misaki says:

Look at all that pawesome snow!!!

  7. Emma says:

Better to have the snow than temps below zero all the time! Where are his boots?

  8. Awww looks like lots of fun!

  9. We are having big time snow here in Michigan too! HAPPY NEW YEAR and KEEP WARM!

  10. Dottie Wells says:

Thanks, Will, for my first big laugh of the new year. I had to do a double take at the “wind foils”. Hey, if you’ve got ’em, use ’em! He’s the most fun dog I’ve ever seen. You two are a great pair. Happy New Year, my friend. I love your snow. But, am glad we don’t have any….. yet, here in Arkansas.

Oh, we can see that little snow or a lot of snow makes no difference to sweet Eko he is going to have fun no matter what. Great pictures of him frolicking in the snow. You all have a wonderful new year! Hugs and nose kisses

  12. Ha! Eko, your giant floppy ears are like parachutes! You are King of the Hill at the park by yourself. The snow is headed here to NJ tonight. I am excited, but I hope the snow doesn’t touch my belly. That scares me.

    Love and licks,

  13. Bongo says:

That looks like so much fun playing in the snow. I sure want some to play in, but I guess I can’t complain about the perfect trail weather here.

  14. Eve says:

Bbbbrrrr!!!! Looks like he is having fun!!! But I wouldn’t be unless I had hand & feet warmers!! LOL!!

  15. Wow! I have never ever seen so much snow!! Sure looks like fun! Great way to start the new year!!

  16. brrr where are your snow shoes Eko ???? x

  17. Same thing here in Michigan. My dogs loooooove it. Meanwhile I’m huddled in the cold, going “Are we done yet out here?!”

  18. Boomdeeadda says:

One sure thing about having a dog is you get outside no matter the weather, way to embrace the day guys!

  19. Beth MacDougall says:

Eko is beautiful, love reading about your adventures.
Could you please tell me about Eko’s coat/jacket??

I have a male rhodesian that was the runt, so while he is quite a bit smaller than Eko (my boy is 90 lbs. full grown) he is still a big boy and super active and in need of anew coat given the severe cold we seem to be having. Info on brand and where purchased would be helpful. Thanks in advance and try to stay warm!
