A bright, brisk winter day

This is what Montrose beach looks like February 5, 2014

Chronicles of Narnia?

Another blast of snow came through Chicago last night.  I think this is some serious payback for the past two mild winters.  Eko and I braved the storm for a romp, but once at the beach it quickly became apparent we could not stick around for long.  Our planned romp inadvertently turned into a fashion magazine cover shoot.

With the wind rippling through his air, Eko looked perfect for the dog edition of Vogue

The wind picked up and Eko looked like a jet on the runway

Eko was loving the wind, but then it just got out of hand…

I thought my little pup was going to get blown away!

“Yeah, Will, it’s time to go.”

If anyone sees Mother Nature, please put in a good word for the city of Chicago to get an early spring.  Not sure how much more winter we can take!

Comments for Mother Nature Is Not Happy

  1. It looks like you need to visit Arizona!! I think the Southwest is the only area that isn’t in some major drought or affected by the polar vortex.

  2. Victoria says:

i am with you there – my house has so much ice it looks like a magical wonderland – you can’t walk anywhere or drive anywhere but it is beautiful – and my poor pups having to potty on the ice would be funny if they didn’t have such sorrowful looks on their faces. And i am not in Illinois but in West Virginia – probably not getting nearly as much snow as you but still suffering from lots of ice this year.

  3. Kuruk says:

Maybe we could be in Vogue together! Wooooowoooooo!

  4. Wow, amazing photos! That looks cold. Eko’s ears really are spectacular.

  5. Mags Corner says:

Super wonderful pictures Will. That second picture is beautiful. Sweet Eko and his ears always gives us a smile. That wind was really doing a number on those ears. We are asking for spring for all of us who have had enough winter. Hugs and nose kisses

  6. Emma says:

You can send the extra snow and cold our way, we love a good hard winter. Those -20 days can get on our nerves, but in general we love cold and snow. Maybe Eko needs a hat?

  7. Misaki says:

The picture of the beach is incredible!!

  8. Hey Will, Seems like I remember a post about gathering fire wood back in the Fall….. How is it holding out? I look at the Chicago forecast on the weather channel and my heart goes out to you and EKO!! And one more thing…. I hope you have plenty of Coffee!!!

Take Care and God Bless 🙂 Kenny T

  9. raisingdaisy says:

We’re getting the same thing here. I agree – Mother Nature is definitely making up for the abnormally warm winters we’ve had lately. Love those shots of flying ears! 🙂 Eko sure looks like he’s ready to go home and sit by the fire.

  10. Wow, that’s amazing. Clearly the White Witch has paid you a visit!

Whee have gale force winds here today and they pulled up the neighbours fence. Mummy says she is glad whee are indoor piggies and safe from all that, and so are whee!

  11. Boomdeeadda says:

Eko looks like one of those airport guys that holds out the flags for planes parking, HA…they seem to signal the exact same way.
Are those waves frozen into shapes from the wind? You’re right, it does look like Narnia.

  12. Great magazine cover photo shoot! Too bad about the cold and the wind… but while the change is drastic!

  13. Tiffany F. says:

That beach photo looks unreal! I bet you both are over winter!
