The goal was a cute family photo. The result was a blurry mess, but I just love Penny bugging Eko and Eko whining to Emily about it
I had another portrait-style photo in mind here, but Eko showed he still knows how to start trouble by pushing Penny and setting off a game of tag
This photo is just absurd. Penny tried to jump on Eko, but he ignored her while grooming himself. Penny remained stuck on his head for a good ten seconds
Getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time isn’t easy. Penny did her job here…
But when Eko turned around she decided to just quit and walk away
And sometimes no one looks, but you catch your pup looking like she’s talking out of the side of her mouth like and old-time mobster plotting a heist
Life is messy, unpredictable and weird so I appreciate holding on to some of my perfectly bad photos which reflect exactly that. Whenever you take a really good, really bad photo I highly advise you hold on to it! Does anyone else have a favorite bad photo in their collection?
There is no such thing as a bad photo. It’s is life happening in the moment.
Your ‘bad’ photos are AWESOME!!! My bad photos are usually a blurry mess!
not one is bad :o) I’m so glad you have all this photos, they are just great! I would make a photo book :o)
OMD if you call these “bad” then my photos are HORRIFIC and they are all over my blog!!! lol!!!
I love your bad photos! They show such wonderful “slices of real life” and really show the dogs’ personalities. I have lots of those with Daisy, and they’re my favorites too. 🙂
I love all the photos, whether you deem them “good” or “bad” or whatever. After all, the subjects are adorable, so the photos are too!
We have so many bad photos, but lately, we have been tossing most of them to save some space on the computer. Getting one dog to pose is pretty easy, Bailie and I together goes pretty well since we both like the camera, but add in Katie or a fourth dog and it is total chaos! Sometimes the chaos does turn out to be fun, though.
so true – some of my worst shots are the best shots – i just don’t share them w/anyone and look thru them every once in a while for a good chuckle or “aw thats so cute”
all photos are beautiful if I am in it Woof
Oh I think we all have some rotten but wonderful photos. My favorite isn’t of Sam – it’s of me and my Dad. Being silly together – but I treasure it because he’s gone now.

The good ones are fewer and farther between! This morning I posed Duncan, whose fur looks like gray camouflage, on top of a gray and black speckled rock. I cannot find him on it — but I’m not sure if he left the picture or is still there, in sniper pose.
Your ‘bad’ photos are still superior to some of the ones I have taken. Of course, I’m working with hooves here – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

This is my favourite bad photo of Trevor so far! He was about to bark and just looks like an absolute spaz <3
Ha! How timely, I just posted what I consider a ‘really bad’ photo but I liked it nonetheless… These are all great though, and you’re right the messy, unplanned, out-of-focus shots do tell a more realistic tale and give away more of the back-story!
Hugs, Carrie and Pups x
I love them! I would never have a photo to post if I worried about it. These are all great!
My blog is currently full of really bad photos Will 🙂 Really bad! Quick snaps taken while Siddy is doing something [most often something that he really shouldn’t be doing] and invariably he is on the move! I have noticed that even my shots of inanimate things are getting blurred though – maybe it’s catching……
I don’t know why but when I point my camera and any of my dogs they look away and I can’t get them to look at the camera. What the heck are they thinking? I wonder often! lol
The “bad” photos reflect reality accurately.
You catch the craziest photos that are the best! I love photo bloopers too!
Another fantastic post, Will. When you are getting ready for group shoots, have you tried hanging a tennis ball (or something else interesting) around your wrist as a way to get the kids to look at you?
We love “bad” photos! They show our true characters 🙂

Eko says you need a headless ridgeback in at least one photo 😀 … can use it for halloween ^___^
At least you have all their body in the pictures 🙂
