Stand perfectly still and look away
Whether looking up, down or to the side, the key is to remain statue still and look away
I’m not sure if the pups think this tactic turns them invisible, but regardless they both believe if they remain perfectly still they cannot get in trouble. No matter how absurd staying still may look.
Penny teetered over the edge, torn between her knowledge she shouldn’t be up there and her commitment to staying perfectly still
More often than not, Eko and Penny work in silent, stoic tandem to profess their innocence.
“Look, he’s still and quiet. I’m still and quiet. Not sure what you think you heard going on in here, Will.”
I know they were causing mayhem just the second before I snapped this shot, but neither would snitch on the other
Thick as thieves, these two
Like Wile E. Coyote, I think my efforts to catch these two road runners in the act is doomed. They’re just too quick!
Does your pet have a go to maneuver to profess innocence/avoid your ire?
sure the sitting pretty with a head tilt that says “huh, me bad, no way” that is muffing and Rigs just lays down and puts his head on his paws and gives me the big sad eyes like “how could you think i did anything bad”
last picture is great! are you sitting on your tail in picture #4 Eko?
I think without dogs our life would be soooooooo boring :o)
That picture of Penny perched on your TV stand is hysterical. I want to know how long she balanced there before jumping down! 🙂
oh momwithoutpaws would show me how dogs fly. woof! do not let them fool you they know they are doing wrong.. I get the bell that I hate. woof
They are beyond cute. I love the statue act. I usually can catch Sofie
This is such a hoot! They really make my husband and me laugh…..Penny sure is growing fast! Was looking at her first pictures the other day.
oh they are good. Really good. The stoic “Who Me” look. Awesome my friends. XOXO – Bacon
Looks like double trouble to these GBGV eyes!
Eko is so handsome and Penny is frickin’ adorable!! The pic with Penny on the cabinet by the TV, bwahahaha!
We get the “nothing was happening!” a lot…my partner will be in the kitchen cooking, here a ruckus from the other room and run through to find both dogs sitting waiting for him to appear XD
Have you ever seen those ‘shame your dog’ videos on YouTube, where the owner talks sternly about something a dog does and the dog looks really upset as a result of their tone? I once tried talking like that to Kasper…his reaction was to grin at me and thump his tail against the floor. I couldn’t be happier 😀
Hahaha little tykes!! it works though, ya can’t be mad at that!
Hugs, Carrie and Pups x
lol, having a dog that goes on counters I just love to see others up there too!
Cody always did the guilt face as he tried to slink away. The last few years of his life, he ended up just owning it. (Because the only thing he ever really did was try to get human food– Well, mostly the pizza.)
This must be an inbred response – my pup does exactly the same thing, except he looks at me as if to say ‘What now?’ I’m the one who ends up feeling guilty!
Neither of mine do, but OMG are yours ever hilarious!!!
Whatever you do – or they do – I just hope that they get lots and lots of kisses. Because every time I read your blog, see pics or videos, that’s all I want to do to them!
We don’t do that-we scram the h outta there.
I (Sammy) am usually the one causing mischief and 9 / 10 I am caught red pawed because inevitably I get stuck or am unable to get down / back to a non-mischief pose in time *BOL*
Sammy (and Wally)
Hahahaah well the frozen moment is sadly none too convincing here…mind you at a senior age I think they don’t care if they are caught out or not anymore…they pull the I am a pensioner pup look..sucker me,,.hugs Fozziemum
You could never separate those two now 🙂 so cute. Love how Eko has totally accept Penny. You guys have done an amazing job
Sometimes they look like mommy and puppy (sorry Eko :P)
Great photos, Will…I miss my Ridgeback every day…what great dogs they are!!
