[VIDEO] The Life of a Plush Toy

Eko and Penny love plush toys to death, but visitors won’t find any plush toys in my apartment. Why? Like I said, Eko and Penny love plush toys to death. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-AcTdd7Y9E

Comments for [VIDEO] The Life of a Plush Toy

  1. Emmadog says:

We’ve always had lots of plush toys, but our supply is way down with Bailie as she does the Penny thing and they don’t last long!

  2. Mona Sigal says:

I just ordered this toy in the jumbo version: all on sale at pet mountain.com!!! Love it.

  3. how clever to destroy their nest first, so they have no place to hide…. it was a short video, I guessed it. Eko&Penny: 10 points – tree rats: 0 (in words: ZERO)

  4. KarenS says:

RR’s and plush toys! Squeakers are eviscerated as soon as they get the toy. Then comes the removal of the stuffing. The joy on their faces are they work their kill!!! Our jobs are to clean up before they ingest everything.

Loved your send off to the toys before they met their fate. So true. So true

  5. fredrieka says:

plush toys do not last long here, you would swear it was snowing indoors as well as outdoors. Woof..

  6. nerdgrl (Kim S.) says:

Steffi was awful to plush toys…but those were the only ones she liked. I always bought the gingerbread wooly type because the first thing to go on anything else was the tail, then the ears, then any other protruding parts, then the insides. There was only one toy that she didn’t destroy. We called it her baby doll. It was her first toy and almost bigger than she was when we got it. We kept it along with her collar and ashes after she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

  7. scarlybobs says:

Oh you got both my pups’ attentions squeaking that squirrel at the start!

Our two are the same. Stuffie toys just don’t last around here. At all. As a result they only get them on special occasions 😉

I always get so jealous when your two are playing with a toy or two…I wish Kasper would share with Zoey!

  8. Elyse says:

I haven’t found a toy yet that Duncan doesn’t destroy in a nano-second — I bought him one on Saturday and gave it to him as I put away the groceries. He had killed it before the first bag was empty. I’m going to start just giving him sticks and sweeping up!

  9. raisingdaisy says:

Daisy LOVES plush toys (in fact she got all excited when she heard the toy in your video squeaking!), and she used to love them to death within 10-20 minutes, but now she takes her time and gets to know them a little better before turning them inside out. 😀

  10. coastingnz says:

oh my gosh that was like watching my boys in RR suits! Hilarious – and exactly the same, Nico is methodical with his dissection while Ziggy is jumping about. Absolutely could have replaced Eko and Penny with Nico and Ziggy and we would have the exact same video – classic!

  11. Jan & Rusty says:

Ahhh, good to know my Rusty isn’t the only one who destroys indestructible toys immediately. Plush toys live less than 5 minutes, and the stuffing would be swallowed if I didn’t grab it first. Squeaky tennis balls last a bit longer. Must be because they’re fun to chase before eating. And, yes, the squeaky noise in your video got Rusty’s attention immediately. He was snoozing, his head popped up, and he came over to investigate. Thanks for all your posts and videos. They’re awesome!

  12. Lana says:

After our RRs destroyed a ton of plush toys in a second, we decided to experiment with a large plush toy for kids in hope that the size itself will deter our RRs from destruction. It worked like a charm to a certain degree. Our girl loves to wrestle with this toy – it is the same size as her, but does not make a banging sound when she tosses it across the room. So, our neighbors downstairs appreciate it as well. Our boy got to the inside stuffing, but only a couple of times, and I patched it easily. Now, he wrestles with it as well. Despite all the wrestling and occasional chewing, the toy is alive and well since last November, which is a miracle. 🙂

  13. WOW!! They are FAST!!!!! OMG!! Dakota used to do that when he was young, now if he chews them at all, he just goes for tags (which I try and cut off), and appendages 😉

  14. Kismet says:

What this country needs is an undestructable plush toy that’s under fifty bucks. It used to be a good five cent cigar, but plush toys give more pleasure.

  15. Marcela says:

Lol. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw Penny fall down. It reminded me of Alex. I know, I know, I am being bad. Btw, Alex does the same thing your furry kids do to their plush toys that is why I have to supervise anytime she has one in her mouth. They “die” very fast.

  16. Nikitaland says:

After watching the demolition of those poor plushies, we are keeping our toy boxes away from Eko and Penny! We have sent a handful of our plushies to the “Pet Hospital” (which resides on top of the fridge) until our Mommy sews them back up for us, but we are normally good with our toys for the most part. We have killed a few of our toys so bad though that after they were sewed up, they looked like Franken Toys with scars all over them!

    RIP poor plushies!

  17. cafall says:

I had to really laugh at the flurry of movement happening behind Eko! LOL!

Toys last just about as long in our house.

    Monty and Harlow

  18. that was great, poor squirrels, yup I wouldn’t be buying too many plush toys either

  19. Sam (like every Standard I’ve owned) is an eviscerator, too. The button eyes go first, then the nose gets ripped off, then the poor little critter gets skinned and decapitated–but It isn’t the squeaky thing, he just has to murder all stuffies. 🙁 Suppose that makes sense for dogs bred for hunting, but it sure is hard to watch. But I have to confess, I do enjoy watching Penny dog. She cracks me up every time and well that leaping biff…was priceless (is it fundamentally wrong to laugh when the dog crashes like that..if so, sorry). 😉

  20. Sometimes my plush toys have to check in to Squeaky Toy Hospital for a little intensive care. Mommy is an excellent surgeon. 😉
