[VIDEO] Hope Springs Anew

You can never replace a dog, but you can always find a dog desperately in need of your love. My brother found that dog in his senior adoptee, Doc. In return, Doc has helped my brother rediscover his smile. I couldn’t be happier for them both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGhgpnrGrNI

I love doc’s smile at the end – priceless – good for James and Doc – hope they have many, many happy beach visits with Eko, Penny and you.

  3. It feels good to hear that Doc and your bro are such a good team. And this time Doc was really the doc who cured a sad heart… have a wonderful weekend :l)

  4. Once again I have tears in my eyes!!! Ohhh I LOVE Doc’s smile at the end!!!!! Can’t wait for the adventures to begin!

  5. Emmadog says:

So great at 8 he found such a wonderful home and the two are obviously meant for each other. As long as Penny and Eko are around, he will never get lonely either.

  6. How terrific to see all creatures (both 2 and 4 legged) having so much to smile about and even though the video got me a bit teary eyed, I couldn’t have been happier to see that last smile. Yay, Doc! Happy weekend!

  7. Kismet says:

    Doc tolerates Penny?

  8. KDKH says:

Looks like Doc was a bit confused at first –like he’d never had a day at the beach before. Glad Eko and Penny could help model happiness and frolic with him. He certainly looked like he had it all figured out at the end! Yay Doc!

  9. coastingnz says:

That was just beautiful – you could see the initial apprehension in Doc but it didn’t take long and then the smile. Doc you are gorgeous and James I could hug you for rescuing him and showing him such love which is most obviously returned.

I just finished reading “War Dog” which tells the extraordinary true story of a Czech airman (Robert) and his dog (Antis) in WWII. They shared an amazing bond of loyalty and trust. I really enjoyed the book but the last page made me incredibly sad. Antis, a German Shepherd, survived the war and died at 14 years old but Robert had sworn he would never have another dog after Antis, and he refused to let his children have one either. I suppose love and loyalty can take many forms but it’s sad to think of the impact of that decision on his kids. Still loved the book!
I’m glad that most of us can grieve our loss and then find a new dog to share our life.

  14. The joy on Doc’s face says it all! So thrilled for him to have come into James’ and all of our lives!!!! Thanks!

  15. fredrieka says:

perfect same as momwithoutpaws adopting BonBon, they need people to love them even though they are seniors. Momwithoutpaw is a senior. Your new friend Doc can romp better then old BonBon but glad you had met and James has a new paw baby

  16. I’m so glad they found each other, they never do replace a lost loved one but have a new place in ones heart.

  17. Great video – both Doc and James are lucky to have found each other.
