Wearing a collar takes a bit of getting used to
Penny bravely tried to introduce herself to Eko
But he clearly wasn’t having it at first
So instead she befriended Auggie, my mom’s pup, who graciously let Penny use his bed. I’m not sure she gave him much of a choice
Penny began her illustrious career as a taste-tester of inedible objects with a sample of my cell phoneÂ
When Eko was ready, he tested Penny to see if she was tough enough to join our band of adventurers
I think he was quite surprised at how the little stinker didn’t even flinch when faced with the jaws of a ferocious beast
He was even more surprised when she tried to kiss him!
Eko finally realized he, like me, was helpless in the face of such cuteness. “Fine, she can stay,” he said, “but don’t expect us to be all lovey-dovey and reenact that scene from Lady and the Tramp.”
….one week later…
“Will, if you put this photo of us Lady-and-the-Tramp-ing on the blog, you’re in big trouble”
It’s not as easy to fit Penny on my lap these days, but she’ll always be my little girl
Thanks for taking an indulgent trip down nostalgia road with me. And remember, always take more photos. I took so many of puppy Penny but still feel like I didn’t get enough!
wonderful throwback thursday – they don’t stay little long so you got to take all the pics you can…….so that when they get bigger you can remember those puppy days
It’s great that you found this photos, they are wonderful and they bring a smile on efurrybuddy’s face. I sadly have not much puppy photos… wish I could turn back the time…
So adorable! Thanks for an excellent TBT.
They are both adogable!! Thanks for sharing.
So stinking cute. No kidding! Even as a little one she definitely had a lot of confidence. Eko didn’t fight it too hard, did he? He knew his little sister would be up to the adventure.
Thanks for sharing.
Seriously Awwwww-some.
SOOOO cute. Looks like my Lilly and your Penny had the good luck of being cute because their puppy behavior could be trying at times!
How darling! Your photos put a big smile on my face. I introduced my new RR puppy to my 7 year old RR and had the same experience. She was fearless and he didn’t accept her for 5 weeks. Now they’re buddies!
You’re gonna throw Penny back???? 🙂
Fabulous shots and totally agree – can never have too many photos!
I love the one of Penny on the cell phone. She was calling her mom telling her she was fine, had tons of toys to play with, and a “great” big brother who said she could stay with him forever!
It’s always fun going through the puppy pics. We always think we have so many, but there are never enough!
What perfect timing! I’ve been following your blog for several months ever since we decided we want a ridgeback. Well, we finally get our little guy on Saturday. If my pics are half as cute as these, I’ll be happy!
Kids and TBT’s indeed. That’s a good one, you young sprout! Thanks for sharing such adorable pics of the Penny girl. She’s always been a pill, hasn’t she? Just love that wrinkled brow face.
oh those were just too stinkin’ cute!!! How did she grow soooooooooo fast, right before our eyes???!!! It is like she was small and then POOF!! Thanks so much for sharing these, especially the “Lady and The Tramp” one…sorry Eko!!
That is so true about the pictures and there never being enough.
Sweet Will all of these pictures are just adorable…hard to believe that Penny has grown as much as she has in such a short time. I remember how anxious and excited you were to get her home. The joy on your face tells shows just how happy you are to have her too. She captured your heart, Emily’s heart and Eko’s. What a wonderful, happy family. Thank you for sharing these treasures what memories you have to look back on in pictures. Hugs and nose kisses
We all need to take more pics. of our furbabys, all through there life. Just got told by my Vet that my oldest, might have cancer. First thing I thought of was take more pictures. PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES
