My Favorite Girls

“Are you sure we’re ready for another dog?” Emily asked. Ready? Yes. Sure? There’s no such thing. “Are you sure we’re ready for another dog?” Emily asked. Ready? Yes. Sure? There’s no such thing. Raising and caring for a dog is a major commitment and there’s no certainty about where that commitment might take you. But when Emily emphatically endorsed our commitment to get another dog I knew we were about to embark on a wonderful adventure together. Rhodesian Ridgeback, puppy, cute, photo

From day one, we knew Penny was just a bit different

Emily embraced the challenge (and the pup) wholeheartedly

With all of Penny’s energy, we needed the both of us to keep up

Nothing like exploring the world (and the menu) with your pup

Like Eko, Penny’s helped me make Emily smile

And also like Eko, Penny’s never far from Emily’s side

My favorite smiles, my favorite girls

As an added bonus, since we made it through year one of Penny, year one of our marriage should be a breeze!

Comments for My Favorite Girls

  1. Absolutely :o) It’s great to see your two girls and I remember the fabulous time as it was possible to park the pup on my lap with one flick of the wrist… :o)

Great photos, but that first one of Puppy Penny asleep on her back is hysterical!! 😀 And I feel certain that every year of your marriage will be filled with wonderful times.

  3. I’m sure this is why Emily is marrying you – devoting a whole week to her…what a great hubby! Happy and excited for you both – well all four of you really! I’m sure it will be a wonderful wedding and marriage – Looking forward to the rest of the week and the pics of the big day. Eko and Penny in the wedding? We got married in our backyard and my favorite pics are of our pup Sally (she was only about 4 months old) running around playing hostess, crashing the buffet line, licking the extra cake off the kids faces, etc….it was the best.

  4. nerdgrl (Kim S.) says:

I love the last pic. May those smiles be ever present. Congratulations to you and Emily; may you have years and years of happiness!!! Of course, with the two pups…well, smiles should abound.

  5. KarenS says:

Couldn’t comment on yesterday’s post, but a huge congrats on a big step in you & Emily’s relationship! My mom advised us to choose those we would share our lives with based on how they cared for their pets & others in their lives. I think you both hit the jackpot!!

The smiles of your girls are wonderful.

Eko & Penny are very lucky to have 2 caring people in their world.

  6. SandySays1 says:

Looks like a happy family to me. If there are any problems, don’t worry. Penny will have you trained in no time!

  7. May those smiles continue throughout your lives together. Happy Day 2 of Emily Week. 🙂

  8. Kismet says:

Oh, you had better include your mother-in-law in the list of faves or you’re poo and she has a plastic bag.

  9. dashlilly says:

Now I am just going to say for the sake of Emily and anyone else planning and organizing your wedding — you and Penny and Eko are being helpful this week, right? No furniture chewing, no grumpy Guses .. everyone pitching in where needed. Okay.. that being said.. what a happy week!

  10. Anna Hidalgo says:

What a wonderful way to celebrate your wedding week. 🙂 Congratulations!!!

    This is a sweet series.

  12. I’m sure Penny will make sure year one is a breeze. 😉

  13. meANXIETYme says:

Love those pictures. And I’m so happy for your upcoming wedding and marriage! What a happy, fun family you’ve got.

  14. coastingnz says:

Fabulous photos. That first one, oh my gosh snuggles, snuggles, makes you go all gooey inside and then the last one – not just two girls but two beautiful girls. How lucky are you young man!!! – both of you actually Will and Eko Marking your Territory with two gorgeous girls at your side.

  15. That first picture could be Khoi! Little tongue and all. Of course, the only difference is Khoi has boy parts. It amazes me every day when I read your blog, I could be reading about Neeka and Khoi. Both our pups migrate towards me during cuddle times and turn to my husband for play. You are an insanely luck guy to have two great girls in your life and the “guy” support of an equally devoted Eko. The best of luck to all four of you Friday and the many years following. I hope, instead of a grooms cake, you have a Ridgeback cake to take home to the pups or you may never hear the end of it. There are still more unscarred cushions on your couch

  16. Two beautiful girls……….and remember who they are smiling at in these photos – you make them smile and they make you smile and there’s absolutely nothing that feels better than that……….you and your family will definitely be a “happily ever after”……and I’m so glad for all of you!

    Pam

  17. Emmadog says:

That last photo is so sweet! Penny may be a bit “different” like our Bailie, but they keep everyone on their toes and laughing!

  18. Rene L. Hester Jensen says:

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials! We wish you & Emily & your pups a happy, loving, & fun life together!

Thank you for sharing everything in your blog. We look forward to reading & viewing the pix/videos! Keep up the great times – my pup actually watched the videos!

  19. Haaa!!!! I was getting all teary-eyed again until that last blurb!!! Now I am loling all over!! lol!!!

  20. Ingrid says:

That first photo of Penny is just too darn cute. Seems like your “About” page could use a makeover….. married with two furry kids. Congrats! Where has the time gone 🙂

  21. dogdaz says:

Adorable tribute to your 2 favorite ladies

  22. fredrieka says:

Unless Emily starts chasing her tail, has an accident in the living room or even gets fleas, but I guess pawless girls do not do those things. Sure hope she is house broken

  23. What’s not to love about those two? Great fun pictures of two beautiful girls.

  24. Genevieve says:

Puppy napping can’t be cuter… Unless you add Emily to the mix!
