[VIDEO] A Day Without My Crazy Puppy
Penny may be a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but we’re fairly certain her lineage must contain a tank, a bulldozer or some sort of heavy machinery. She’s a one-girl-wrecking-crew. But on Wednesday, with Penny at the vet for her spay, it was my nerves that were wrecked. Luckily I had Eko to
I’m so glad everything is fine now, your family is complete :o) I know that feeling, it’s like having all ants on the world on my skin… but now you can relax together :o)

Glad she’s home and thanks for letting us see it with our own eyes.
Aww, she found her perfect spot to relax behind the couch!! “Things” that our pets have to go through for us to protect and care for them! You’ll be able to sleep and relax well after she’s all healed up. Eko has turned out to be the perfect brother to Penny!
It may be “routine” to the vet but it had to be traumatic for Penny.
Glad this is over for you. And Penny. I remember the looooong wait when Rusty had his operation. He was fine, me not so much. Wishing a quick recovery time for Penny. I know, too, how hard it is to keep them quiet. Thanks for all the updates!
Enjoy it now because in no time she won’t want to be resting anymore! It is always stressful for Mom when one of us is not home for any reason. It simply feels wrong.
So glad to see Penny is doing so well.I’m sure she’ll recover quickly surrounded by her dedicated medical staff,Dr Emily and nurses Will and Eko.
Feels so good to get them home after that – especially when they are back to themselves after a little bit! Glad it all went ok and you and the family are back together again
Aw, so happy to see Penny (aka Caterpillar-dog) back on the scene. I think you’re right–there just might be some heavy machinery DNA in your princess. Happy weekend snuggling on your girl.
Funny, isnt it? I know how you feel. It is stressful for me to read about Pennys surgery, because I remember how stressful it was for us when our female had her op. I remember her eyes when we came to get her, they were just saying ‘take me home’. I hated myself, still do when I remember that. Altough I know that the op means healthier life for her (minimum risk of pyrometra and cancer). Still, that look of her haunts me when I remember. I love her so much, my little trouble. Those RR little ladies are irresistible 🙂
That’s so sweet! Glad it went well! 🙂
Gah! That was the longest day ever! Welcome home, P.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Nothing like loving humans to make everything alright. Right Penny?!
~Lowryder~
Eko does love his sister!! Good to see that she’s resting.
Bless you little girl – good to have you home. With you on the trips to the vet – anxious no matter what the reason, even the yearly checkup/vaccinations I’m a mess!
We can most definitely relate. Having Daisy away for her spay surgery and then again for a much worse surgery when she tore her ACL and meniscus were some of the worst days we’ve had. Glad Penny’s back home where she belongs. 🙂
Yay! Whew, what a relief! Thanks for the update, Will. Looks like you and Eko were stressing pretty badly. I remember when mom took me to the vet and they sole my bits… I felt drugged for a loooooong time. Anywho, tell Penny I send *ear licks* please!
So glad all went well..the pacing and jitters are awful when they are not there and at the vets..but it is onwards and upwards now..good luck with the carrying 🙂 hugs to poor patient Penny 🙂 Fozziemum
BonBon is like that only because she is rickety and old, she is forever bumping and stepping on this. Old Cissy gets snarky with her cuz she has no patience
Thanks for the update – glad to see sweet Penny is doing well. Looks pretty gray and cold in Chicago though…
what a great way to pass the time, glad you had Eko to take your mind off of the surgery.
I didn’t see this til now because I was waiting to watch it with my husband. Such a sweetheart…bet she will be back to full speed soon!!!
