Puppy Penny: Then and Now

Penny celebrated her first birthday just a couple months back, but I realized this past week marked her first full year in Chicago. With that in mind I decided to recreate some photos from her first weeks in Chicago to see how much she’s grown. Penny’s first trip

These days she sits a bit taller

Speaking of sitting taller…

This patio chair is no longer quite as comfortable as it once was

Penny had an early interest in dentistry

Which continues to this day. It just takes a bit more effort to get her head between those jaws of Eko’s

On her first trip to the beach, Penny was still small enough to fit under Eko’s legs

These days her legs can nearly match Eko’s legs stride for stride

Penny and Eko filled up the futon even when she was just a little stinker

Penny’s gotten bigger, the futon is the same size, but somehow it still works

A year ago she was a little, soft, squishy troublemaker

Nowadays she’s a lean, keen, trouble-making machine!

In sum, compared to a year ago, Penny has longer legs but the same thick, loveable skull. I’ll be interested to take these same photos a year from now when Penny is fully an “adult.” (Like with me, we’ll use that term very loosely with Penny)

Of course, no matter how many years go by she’ll always be my little puppy!
