My Favorite View in Chicago

One of my favorite parts of having dogs is they force you to get up and move. Now, where you move to is entirely up to you. Walks around the neighborhood are nice, but on warm days I love heading out to the lake for the view. Nothing

Nothing beats a walk with the whole family

At the furthest point of our walk we like to sit by the docks and watch the boats go by

Penny is particularly enamored by the sailboats

Sometimes a bit too enamored!

We sit, we eat a few snacks and we watch the world go by

Nowhere to go and all day to get there

While the harbor is nice and the skyline is beautiful, I think the truth is that my favorite view of Chicago is any view that includes Emily, Eko and Penny. I couldn’t ask for a better crew!

Comments for My Favorite View in Chicago

  1. The pace of life has picked dramatically up for me recently. Notice the lack of regular posts…. It’s mostly good but there is not a lot of down time between professional and personal commitments…. The caption of the last picture was a great reminder to enjoy and appreciate those times when one does in fact have “nowhere to go and all day to get there”. When I read it my body relaxed and for that brief few moments let down and I could figuratively smell the roses (and the harbor). Thanks for that.

    p.s. nothing beats family

Who cares about the landscape? Any picture with those 3 in it is a great one.

  5. Victoria says:

so right – the best views include those we love!

  6. Love the grip Emily has on Eko while Penny is going after a sailboat. I do that all the time. Who needs a collar when there’s so much skin to grab! In the last couple pictures, Emily should be wearing a tank with a ridge on it. Great pictures Will, as usual.

I’m surprised Penny’s enthusiasm for boat-chasing (another doggy Olympic sport I’ll have to add to the list!) didn’t drag Emily and Eko into the water with her! Emily must have very strong Penny-toned arms by now…she doesn’t need to lift weights! 😉

  8. what a great view!!! Have a great weekend.

  9. C Taylor says:

Glad to see the whole family and how everyone is enjoying these great summer days! Maybe you can get Penny a radio-controlled boat as a Christmas gift this year!⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

Yeah if I was you, I’d be happy with that view too! Good to see the pups aren’t always so keen to pose for the camera, sometimes there are other things on their mind lol.

  13. and from the looks of things, Eko, Emily and Penny sure feel the same! That last photo is priceless, even Penny looks relaxed! 🙂
