The beach is quieter, but the cool summer air is perfect for romps
One of my favorite end-of-day traditions is walking through the door to a celebratory pair of pups. Even if I’m only gone a short while, it’s like they throw me a surprise party every time I come home.
Home is where the pups expect to do their happy-to-see-you dance, but we’ve had the opportunity to turn the tables and surprise the pups at the beach with a special guest.
“Hey Penny… is that…?”
“Wait a second….it can’t be….”
“EMILY! EMILY! EMILY!”
Coming home from work, Emily can now meet us at the beach. I thought the pups went crazy when she walked into the apartment, but they really lose their minds when they find her somewhere unexpected.
Eko and Penny abandoned their playmates and sprinted over to greet Emily
People at the beach were cracking up at the welcoming committee’s enthusiastic reception
Emily’s met us for a few sunsets at the beach so far, but we’ve quickly realized she should only swing by if we’re ready to leave. Sure, the beach is fun…
But not more fun than seeing Emily!
Has anyone else had the chance to meet up with their pup in an unfamiliar setting or unexpected place? The reaction is absolutely priceless.
it was a little like being in Africa with the sunset :o) it’s great that you can meet each other on the beach now… I hope your Emily can always join you and hasn’t to work longer because of people like my mom and my dad :o)
that is wonderful – boy Emily must feel so loved!!!
Love to be surprised by humans in unexpected places! I bet they were ecstatic, well, I can see they were!
YES!!! We met up with my nephew at a dog park this weekend. The doodles went CRAZY. It was like they were saying “what???? what are you doing here!! Come this way, no let’s go that way. Are you really here???? WOW!”
How cute.Eko and Penny sure do love their mommy. That greeting must make Emily feel so good at the end of a long, hard day.
Yes! Sometimes when I’m late going home for work, I meet my husband and Duncan at the park. He is a love lunatic.
What a fun surprise. That sunset picture of both of them sitting is magnificent.
Khoi had to see the vet a few months ago and while we were waiting in the exam room, my husband showed up. I think Khoi was really hoping he was there to rescue him. At least the vet got to see Khoi’s happy for once.
People out of context is always so exciting! Emily is the best beach surprise ever!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Your pups’ reaction to seeing Emily is priceless! And September’s golden light indescribable, but your photo captures it nicely. Well done. 🙂
How wonderful! Love the obvious pleasure the pups AND Emily have in seeing each other after a day apart. It’s pure HAPPY!
Hugs, Pam and Sam
This reminds me of Blue. I used to take him places to surprise J and vice versa and it was always hilarious and fun.
That’s so sweet and so funny. We do that sometimes – I’ll run to meet Steve and the dogs at the park and it’s kind of the same reaction…”what, what are you doing here?” So funny. That sunset photo with Eko & Penny is great.
Lol. Omg, Eko can easily clear that fence. Seeing your furry kids welcome you that way is truly priceless.
Mom! Mom! Mom! Nice to see for a change. Around here it is Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!
Ohhhh I didn’t see this til today!!!! I have tears in my eyes!!!! I LOVE IT!!
No fence is going to keep me from going to see my Mommie!
I’m new to your site, which I love! How may I find blogs of when you adopted Penny and how Eko first responded to her?
So cute! Some times when I am at work and my boyfriend has a day of, our dog and my boyfriend has visited me outside my work, and she became so happy
