Sun bathing at all costs. Including using the wall as a pillow
But our new bench provides the perfect perch for one of the pups’ favorite activities
Neighborhood watch!
Eko and Penny love to keep an eye on all the passerbysÂ
It appears neighborhood watch is extremely taxing, because the guards take frequent breaks in our new chairs.
It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it
Nothing sneaks by Eko. Unless he’s taking a nap.Â
Even “Wild Thing” Penny can’t resist taking a break.
“Don’t judge me, Will. A girl needs her beauty rest.”
Recently I’ve noticed the pups have been extra vigilant. But in the wrong direction.
For some reason, the pups were intently staring out the side window which faces our building
I shrugged at first, but my curiosity got the better of me and I took a closer look out of the side window. Turns out you can see/smell my neighbors’ dining room from our front window and the pups were inviting themselves to dinner.
I tried to inform the pups they’re supposed to be Neighborhood Watch. Not neighbor watch, but they don’t seem to get the distinction. Now that we have furniture, it looks like it’s time to invest in some blinds for the windows.
Watch…watching…in the lives of dogs it’s pretty much the same thing. And who doesn’t check out someone else’s dining room? Shoot I do too when it’s right in front of my face! 😉
P.S. Love the new furniture. Looks ever so cuddle-ably soft and comfy. Perfect for thse shorter, cooler days and nights ahead.
look in http://www.orvis.com or llbean.com for pet covers for your leather chairs. Well worth the investment. Washable and won’t slip! Love your blog
I have my front window bench with a bed on it for me. I keep watch over the neighbors and the neighborhood. Sometimes Bailie hangs out there too. It is an important job for us dogs! Shame on the neighbors for teasing the dogs with their food!
Our front windows go almost to the floor, so Le Moo and Butthead lay in front of the windows and Butthead will rest her chin on the window sill…for hours at a time. All this just to peer through trees (in front of our house) in the hopes that someone might walk by and/or might be walking their dog. LOL. Barking ensues, but I don’t even think the people or dogs walking by can hear!
To hell with the neighborhood when there’s foodables to be had. Priorities.
I mean the neighbors have to break at some point and the dogs know it. I sense a care package in their future!
What happens if/when the neighbor drops a tasty morsel on the floor? Will Eko and Penny break the windows in order to get a taste?
Be glad you don’t have a front deck they could really check the neighbor closer when they’re cooking dinner. They might invite themselves over there like Eko goes over the fence at the dog park. That would be one way to meet your neighbor p.s. furniture looks great for all to sit and watch the street out front
I guess that’s one way to make friends with the neighbors….. “Ummmm…Are you going to finish that….?”
OH yes blind might be a must and still it doesn’t stop the Juley the Hound at this house! She hears and she makes bark to let them know that she is listening. Or else the neighbor’s dog starts and she starts to help from inside the house, then she really gets her wish to go see why some pup was barking to begin with!
Haha – long distance begging!
Monty and Harlow
I wonder what your neighbor thinks when he looks over and sees those two staring at him? Haha.
You guys are great watch dogs. Great bench you got there.
Seems like they are doing an excellent job!
Ah yes, that was Daisy’s favorite indoor activity too, until she jumped too wildly off that chair and tore her ACL/meniscus. Fortunately your pups can just walk off benches and chairs – no risk there!
They act like cats. Beautiful photo’s. While I’ve been gone Penny grew up!
I’d be careful about investing too much in new blinds. If they get in the way of the sights and smells from the neighbors kitchen, you might find your new blinds being “taken down” by the pups. I’d suggest verticals that aren’t attached at the bottom. Somehow the horizontal blinds that are attached to each other seem to come off the wall fairly easily with a swipe of those big feet 🙂 Love following the story!!
