Coat Test Dummies

We haven’t seen more than a light flurry of snow this winter, but temperatures have dipped below freezing. For my thin-haired pups that means it’s time to break out their coats.Rhodesian Ridgeback, puppy, chicago, blog, cute, montrose dog beach

These Chilly Dogs coats are warm, easy to put on and look great, but none of those are the most important quality in a coat

The most important quality is durability. There’s something in the winter air which seems to get my two extra-riled up

And so the coats tend to become coats of armor for some seriously epic battles

The jackets weather much more than weather. Like Penny’s teeth, for example

The fabric provides plenty of extra material for Penny to drag down Eko

And Eko is quite content to return the favor

Penny’s jacket is pawed and clawed during the melee

The coats also serve as airbags for high-speed collisions

It’s a full on demolition derby. Minus the demolition of their jackets, thankfully

Any Chicago residents who can’t make it to an NHL game can visit Montrose Dog Beach this winter to watch my two brawlers pull on each other like hockey fighters.

Admission is free!

Durability – that’s the name of the game when it comes to those two and coats! Looks like those survive the Penny Test and that’s a pretty darn tough test indeed!
