Good Morning, Chicago!

We’ve spent plenty of time at Chicago’s Montrose Dog Beach, but last week we visited for our first sunrise. It certainly lived up to expectations.  The beach was empty and serene as the first light crept above the horizon Penny was barely a silhouette in the darkness

The cool air and warm light were a perfect for a quiet start to the day

Quiet until Penny stirred up a game of tag, of course

The sun rose above the lake as the pups revealed in their early romp

And before the sun fully climbed above the horizon, we were on our way home

It was such a beautiful start to the day. The trouble with sunrises is they’re always at sunrise, but you certainly can’t beat the view!

Comments for Good Morning, Chicago!

  1. Oh it nearly looks as if they would be in africa for a while…. I saw 3 pups… have I missed something or was it a visitor who enjoyed the sunrise too?

  2. Gorgeous images…sunrise is my favorite time of day.

  3. I too, love sunrise. For a few weeks there, the sun was giving me a spectacular show while I was driving to work. At one point I was on an over crossing and had a stunning view of the sunrise over the Sierras. It took all my effort to keep from stopping and admiring it. Other commuters wouldn’t have appreciated though. It is an incredible time of day, especially with a cup of coffe in hand and watching your pups romp and play. Much better than going to work. Wait, you were working

Looks like the weather was nice and not cold! Funny how dogs can find friiends to play with anywhere or time

  6. gorgeous and I bet it was sooo peaceful!

I’m usually the only one up to see the sunrise around here and they can be spectacular – not coming up over the sea but up over the mountains and the colours are aweseome. We do of course get fab sunsets into the Tasman Sea – so spoiled for choice. Should be spectacular this morning as moody clouds with a storm brewing – still dark at the moment – coming on day light saving to give me lighter mornings and help me with my early starts lol

Sweet sunrise! That is our favorite time of day – bar none! Add Penny and Eko to the mix and it’s perfection!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

You could have lied and said you were in Florida. Looks just the same. Beautiful.
