[VIDEO] (Im)Perfect Leash Training

I can’t quite prove it yet, but I’m nearly certain Cerberus – the infamous three-headed hound who guards Hades – is down to two heads.

What else but that could explain how Penny got here? Training such a beast to walk on a loose leash hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me a lot about how we should cater our training methods to each individual pup.

With that in mind, here’s how I’ve not-so-perfectly trained/train/will train Penny to walk on a loose leash:

Glad it’s not just me that has to work and work at this. Jack is a perfect walker – totally gets it. Maggie, who I don’t think was ever walked on a leash until we adopted her is like Penny, even though she is far from puppyhood. I struggle with making her behave – one because she’s so fearful and two, because she’s sick…so I tend to be very lax and that just makes it worse. I’m my own worst enemy around this…
