“Come here and give your favorite Penny a hug!”
It appears the face you make when over-hugged is a cross-species phenomenon
Same goes for being on the receivingĀ end of an over-enthusiasticĀ kiss!
Penny remains undeterred by Doc’s lack of reciprocation. Her specialty is pushing buttons, and with Doc she always knows just what to do in order to stir him up.
“See, Doc, you jump up like this and then we fight. Got it?”
Doc gets it alright, and then he gets Penny! I love watching the two of them bound around James’s backyard
Both dogs rate their high-flying playdates four-paws up (off the ground)
Of course, Penny’s problem is that she’s not always sure how to land. Somehow she always seems to get stuck on Doc
Doc learned from Eko that the best way to deactivate Penny is to simply stay still. No matter where she happens to be
Ā Doc’s a stand-up/on friend
This happens so often that Doc isn’t even phased by it anymore
Ā For whatever ails us, Penny and I are lucky that we always have a Doc to call on. Watching two dog friends reunite and play is a panacea for the soul.
The joy on both their faces is priceless, though Doc seems a bit un-overly receptive at times. He’s just a dignified GSP and a great spokes-dog for his breed. Our dog Bentley, is the same whenever she see’s her out-of-state cousins when they come to visit her. Her GSP cousin is 6 months younger, so they both have that endless energy and big yard to race around in.
These pictures are amazingly cute. I love Doc’s patience and then his ability to both join in and reciprocate with Penny. It must be a good day for all involved when these play dates come around.
My parents’ dog likes to go UNDER Butthead’s stomach to lift her rear legs off the ground for some reason. Butthead seems fine with it, but last week my parents’ dog attempted to do it to Le Moo and Le Moo was like “uh uh” and oddly just REFUSED TO BE LIFTED. I have no idea how she did it, but the look on my parents’ dog’s face was priceless! She was stuck under Le Moo’s stomach, sort of looking bereft. LOL
they are great… and she got his back…literally or pictorially… it’s good that they have such an agreement :O)
Aw…Doc really is a ‘stand up’ guy. Lucky Penny. Love the look on Doc’s face when he realizes the Kraken has been released. Such a good natured boy.
Watching dogs is mom’s favorite thing to do, but it also keeps her from getting stuff done. It’s great that Penny has a good friend to visit that doesn’t mind being mauled occasionally.
Better Doc suffer than you.
Oh, Penny! You make me smile across the miles!
We have a close friend/neighbour who owns a similar sized dog to my two…
When this neighbour came over for a coffee, my brother and I would wait at the door until she left so we could have a chance to go next door and play with her kids …
Now… 20 years later my two dogs wait at the door for the entire coffee break in hopes that when she leaves … she will take them with her for a playdate …
Talk about coming full circle š
Oh that made me smile – and a smile is certainly handy right now as I deal with Sammy’s loss…..Penny is a force to be reckoned with for sure but Doc seems to be fine with “feeling the force”……….

Beautiful Penny has grown so much x
Doc, you’re a brave, strong guy. Eko taught you well. What an honor to be left in charge of his little sister… Well done, buddy. Keep your head down.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I have to admit my heart skipped a beat when I saw that gorgeous face hiding in the bush. Doc, Doc, Doc ā love you!!!! And once again Ekoās teachings shine through ā he is constantly there the big fella watching over. Heād be laughing himself silly watching Penny try her best with Doc and would be proud of Docās resilience to her antics lol Great to see them both and love their expressions ā and body positions.
Oh no not her again! Doc’s face speaks volumes but I love the way he eventually melts and gives her what she wants. So cute.
Being subtle is NOT Penny’s strong suit!!! BOL BOL BOL!!! xoxo
I couldn’t help but laugh at those photos.
This looks like the game I play with Riley there is nothing like it.
Awe great fun for them both.
