Wedding season ends for me with a coast to coast itinerary over the next two weekends. Next week I will drive to New Jersey for my cousin’s wedding and Eko will of course be my faithful copilot for that trip. But this weekend I take to the skies and travel to California for my good friend’s wedding. Since Eko’s tux won’t be ready in time for California, he opted to stay in Chicago.
The good news is that Eko will stay with my friend Rachel and her pup, Riley – who was one of Eko’s very first friends.
At one point Eko and Riley were the same size!
But I think that “one point” probably lasted all of ten minutes
Eko’s sleepover meant that I spent this morning packing each of us a bag
And of course Eko came in with his “Hey, what’s going on here?” face
Which was quickly followed by his sad “Hey, I know what’s going on here and I don’t like it one bit!” face
This is one of those times I could really use an English-To-Dog translation device. Even though Eko is going to have a great weekend with a great friend, he doesn’t know that so he is resigned to pouting. With a good romp and a few treats before I go, I’m sure he won’t miss me a bit.
Well, maybe I would be ok with him missing me just a little bit!
