“Whaaaatttt!? Is this some kind of joke?”
My little skinny-mini nearly shivered out of her own skin. ButĀ for once, I was prepared! We dashed back upstairs to tryĀ Penny’s new winter jacket for the first time.
Three years ago I agonized over spending Ā $100 on a winter coat for Eko. Three years later I eagerly invested in a second Chilly DogsĀ coat for Penny. After threeĀ harshĀ years of winter wear Eko’s coat looks and functions great. It was easily one of the best purchases for Eko I’ve ever made. I doubt I’ll ever need to get another coat for either pup.
Eko helped with some ballistic testing on the patio. Yes, I bought the “raspberry” color. She may have the grace of a Mack truck, but I thought she could at least look like a cute little lady!
The jacket got its first real test when we visited the beach after a light snowfall.
I forgot there’s a slight learning curve to jackets. I spent the first few minutes laughing as Penny spun around, trying to shed herself of the coatĀ
Did I mention I laughed a lot?
Eventually PennyĀ tired of chasing the jacket and got down to business
And by business, I mean ridiculousness
The beach was empty and frigid, but Penny could not have cared less. She bounded around like it was a summer day. At times I wondered whether Chilly Dogs installed some sort of antigravity technology in their new coats.
She did come back down to earth. Eventually.
Penny’s ready for winter. We’ll see if winter’s ready for Penny.
If you’re in the market for a winter coat for your pup, I know there are a number of well-reviewed jackets from brands like Ruffwear, Hurtta and others. I have zeroĀ affiliation with Chilly Dogs, but I highly recommend you check out their offerings as well. Their products are Eko tested and Will approved.
