This Windy City vignette is a compilation of seven different photos
My second attempt featured Eko welcoming a guest to my party last weekend
“Welcome! Got any treats?”
If you want to make a gif the process is very straightforward:
1. Select 3-10 photos you want to use. In the above examples I used the rapid shot feature on my camera to get a lot of photos in a short burst. The shots don’t have to be in sequence though, you can use photos from over a day, week or even a year to tell your story.
2. Upload your photos in order to a site like Gickr or Gifninja, click to continue and download your newly created gif.
3. Enjoy! You can post gifs to wordpress, tumblr or anywhere else just like you would a normal photo.
Eko didn’t exactly enjoy this water spray but we get to enjoy the gif at least!
Gifs can also be made with movie files, so I’m going to be experimenting with that to see what I can come up with. Hope some of you enjoy making gifs of your pets – if you have any questions feel free to drop me a line. If you do make a gif be sure to let me know where I can check it out!
Awww, he looks so cute with those ears of his flapping around! =)
Thank you! I thought it was still a Photoshop thing but now I know better…I’m going to work on a couple and will post them to the blog when they’re done I love your top one here…Eko looks so noble

i will give this a shot and let you know if i can get it to work for me – very creative and Eko as usual is adorable
Very cool. This is like that new Vine app that’s been going around! Totally trying this.
Very cool! Mom does a lot of those photo bursts and says when she flips through them it is like the old fashioned movie on a deck of cards but we did not know about these programs, thanks for sharing!
Great info, thanks for sharing!
oooooo I wanna try this! When Roxi and Pixie play it makes me laugh. I would love to share it this way!
That’s fab, thanks for sharing. Will definitely try that out
Cool! I love how Eko’s ears fly around in the wind 🙂
Looking forward to doing one of these, thank you for sharing!!!!
oooooh I love the first one with Eko’s ear and the wave in harmony : )
AWESOME Will, I love those ones you’ve made with Eko…ear flop flippin’ in the breeze, adorable. I always wondered how these are done. I do want to make one…so fun!
Will, can Eko father children? If so, I would like to pre-order 2 of them. Thanks.
Gotta love the ears, I remember the video when you first posted it.
What a great tip. Thanks for sharing! Gonna have to try it with Chick.
Those blowing ears! Too cute. I’m guessing he curled up by the fireplace after this?
Will, look – you and Eko have inspired William Wegman! 😉 “Dog photog William Wegman gets in on the animated GIF revival with – what else? – a cute puppy” http://social.blurb.com/dcQ
Thank you for sharing this great idea! I have actually seen GIFS featured on some food blogs, with amazing results! By the way- I had no idea Eko’s ears have so much personality! 🙂
I love it! I tried it, too, with my sister’s cat. Thanks for the encouragement. I didn’t know i was so easy. Love the ears flapping in the breeze. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
