“Will, you’re nowhere near good looking enough to be one of us.”Â
I immediately headed over to what-dog.net to test it out for myself.
I was ecstatic when I perfectly matched! Until I realized the algorithm had correctly identified the pups, not me.
Next, I tried a photo where I was making a ridiculous face and apparently showed my inner Lab
Little trouble-maker-me fittingly matched with another little troublemaker
But when I uploaded standard, smiling photos the results conclusively identified me as an Irish SetterÂ
I have no idea how the algorithm works, but who am I to question our robot overlords? What I do know is that the app is hilarious to use with friends and family. You can download the app if you have an iPhone or you can use it directly at what-dog.net. Have fun, and don’t forget to tell me what breed you got!
LOL! Scottish Terrier. I think it has something to do with the hair. 🙂
OMG….I got a PUG….now…don’t get me wrong…I happen to LOVE PUGS…..they are ADORABLE….but……..not so sure I want to look like one lol……..the description is less than flattering (for a human!) ” Lovable, gets along with people & dogs, pushed-in muzzle”
‘Nuff said lol
My husband got “Chinese Crested
Sweet with its family, reserved with strangers, smart” which in description is TRUE!!! lol
I think that is a scary app! We will just assume Mom would be one of us since we all look so similar except for her small ears 😉
I was a “Portuguese Water Dog” (close) and my husband was a “Boerboel” … “obedient only after training” still working on that which matched him (uncanny)!! As fun as reading your daily horoscope. Interesting to check four legged and two legged family members. Will have to download the app too.
Rigby who is (according to the shelter) have beagle and half st bernard got english setter – and then on a second photo borzoi
What fun! I am an Irish Water Spaniel, but I think it is based on my curly irish hair!
I’m a birddog.
haven’t had a chance to “play” yet…… but had to say Love that photo of you pulling a face and the look on Emily’s face – so beautiful and possibly thinking mmmm I’m with who? lol
Dalmation-KC & Anatolian Shephard- Jack Stack
Haha – I did this the other day and got Irish Water Spaniel…which was pretty spot on. I”m Irish, a Pisces, and I have curly hair!
So fun! I consistently got a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (which ironically is my sister’s dog!), although a couple photos (usually the goofier ones) I tried got my arch nemesis breed: Poodle. (Poodles and I don’t get along, no offense if a poodle or poodle parent sees this.) Both descriptions were spot on, though!
I got Shetland Sheepdog. LOL! Strong barker, agile & sturdy, loving with its family.
I think this really matches me…I don’t how to feel about that. LOL
This was fun.
So funny!! It kept picking me as a poodle!! 🙂
The app says I’m a beagle and Mom is a miniature pinscher. She’s energetic, bossy, and charming. And I’m happy, playful, merry, and gentle. So fun!
Love and licks,
Cupcake the beagle….
hahaha what fun!
Toooo funny. I am going right there now.
This was hilarious. I tried What-dog with a photo of my old Yorkie-X, Dylan, and he was immediately recognised as a Yorkie. But English Springer, Alfie, came up as a Borzoi, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and an Akita. I apparently am a dachshund!!
Hmm……with my luck it wouldn’t identify me as a particular dog breed – it would say “not of this earth” !
Pam
You are a brave soul. I think those kinds of apps are a bit devilish so avoid them and the “truth” they uncover. 😉
