Stop Everything You’re Doing and Find Out What Dog You Are

I don’t know about you, but I love the “What dog does that person look like?’ game. It’s silly nonsense. Or at least it was until the folks at Microsoft decided to play. Fetch!, Microsoft’s new artificial intelligence application can identify and classify dog breeds based on photos. Pretty cool, right? But here’s where things get fun. You can also upload a photo of yourself and see what dog the algorithm thinks you look like.

“Will, you’re nowhere near good looking enough to be one of us.” 

I immediately headed over to what-dog.net to test it out for myself.

I was ecstatic when I perfectly matched! Until I realized the algorithm had correctly identified the pups, not me.

Next, I tried a photo where I was making a ridiculous face and apparently showed my inner Lab

Little trouble-maker-me fittingly matched with another little troublemaker

But when I uploaded standard, smiling photos the results conclusively identified me as an Irish Setter 

I have no idea how the algorithm works, but who am I to question our robot overlords? What I do know is that the app is hilarious to use with friends and family.
