I know exactly when each of these photos was taken simply because I have Eko as a reference
And although the chair and sun moved for this photo, Eko moved with them so I’ll never forget I took this on our most recent trip
Since I know Eko was 8 months-old in this photo, I know exactly when I took it
Some things never change, but when they do I usually have a dog around to help me remember!
When I see this photo I’ll always remember how the sun felt that day
And I will never forget the hilarious moment when Eko ripped up a newspaper and hid under the table because he thought I couldn’t see him
So while I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday, I’m glad I have Eko and Penny around to help remind me of all the good times we’ve had together.
There’s no way I’m alone here. I know other people out there start remembering a moment by asking, “Well let’s see, how old was (insert pet’s name)…”
Lol. Me too. I am horrible at remembering things, but if I have a dog as a reference point, for some crazy reason, things become quite clear. I am so glad I am not the only one with that “problem.” Yes, misery loves company.
Yep, totally works for me, too. I can also date when things happen based on when we adopted a dog or when one left our life. (sniffle)
I’m confused, what dog under the table? I don’t see Eko under there 😉 We dogs are great at finding hiding spots. Mom likes to look at old pics too and she always knows when things were too.
We have a tv cabinet which when I am in my bathroom Pixie hides under while Roxi barks incessantly at her. When I come out Pixie is only half under it these days (she used to be able to get all the way under when she was 4 months lol) It always make me laugh to see she thinks she is under it and half of her is sticking out! hahaha I always goose her! And if Roxi was smart enough and went around the side she would find she is sticking out, but who am I to judge their game?
it’s great, you never need a calendar, just Eko and Penny :o)
Ahahaha oh Eko… 🙂
Zoey once managed to squeeze between two shelves of our wardrobe (a gap of about 20cm) when it was time to put her harness on – oh, how she hates harness time! 😛
I just looking back remembering those moments, the looks on the faces and sometimes just to think “wow, were you ever that small!”. LOL
We measure time that way too…….Sam is almost 15 so that’s a lot of “time measuring help” for us!
Pam
He cheats. He looks at the date after a right-click and “properties”.
You’re absolutely right. Ditto to everything you just said. Great series of photos, too!
It’s amazing how wise our ‘best friends’ make us. I understand not being able to remember breakfast, but for me it was this morning’s. LOL Anyway, I’ve said it before but, you have two of the classiest dogs I’ve ever seen. And they seem to have one of the best owners/trainers on the face of the earth. You make it look so easy. Love your posts.
Dottie and Tuffy-Cat
Guilty as charged and wouldn’t change it for the world!!!!
Beautiful post, Will. Can definitely relate, 🙂
Too funny – I Know exactly what you mean as I do the same. I don’t have as many photos of our Sally & Tino, but the ones I do I can date from what’s going on with them. Love the Eko puppy pics.
What a cutie he was and still is!
The best memories always include a pet.
