The Eko was nestled all snug in his bed
While visions of treats danced in his head
When out in the street there arose such a clatter
Eko sprang from the bed to see what was the matter
When, what to Eko’s wondering eyes should appear
A legendary creature – but not a flying reindeer
The friendly rider, with his dino in tow
Was none other than David Frei, host of the National Dog Show
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
Describing each dog, its talent and quirk
He sprang from his chair once my dog had his go
And proclaimed this Ridgeback the best dog in the show
Then we all heard him exclaim as he drove out of view
“To see the real winner, tune in to NBC on Thanksgiving day, between twelve and two!”
Happy Thanksgiving to humans and canines alike! Â I am very thankful that Eko and I get to travel the country together. Â I know we are all thankful for our faithful companions, so in the words of David Frei, “Hug each other every day.”
