[VIDEO] Eko Goes Snorkeling
Some days I debate bringing my camera to a familiar spot like the dog beach. The routine is usually the same, I tell myself, so why bother. Well I’m glad I decided to bring my camera on our last trip because otherwise I would have missed capturing Eko’s latest exploits.
Eko really loves playing in the water and he’s very good finding treasure – buried or otherwise! Great video.

Good Luck, Eko! That looks exactly like the place were captain Blackbeard hid his treasures!
i love it when her turns around to look at you like “hey Will -a little help here huh?” – that was so cute – good for Eko getting that ball to the beach!
great message and you both ALWAYS make me smile!!!! Thanks for being both of YOU!
So cute, he is one smart dog!
Oh WOW! That is awesome. I wanna go to the water hole! I think I need to start a petition so I can go with mom/dad to the beach. XOXO – Bacon
It is a great video, but I kept thinking “Really? He is a Ridgeback?” Nala gets distressed when I make her step on wet grass to relieve herself. She may do a little wading on a hot day, but nose underwater? None of my Ridgebacks would ever come close to that. Or play with balls. I’m glad you have an exceptional RR. But realize that is a somewhat unusual thing for the breed. You may have far more influence with Eko than you realize! My other dog – a Shiba Inu Basenji mix – will do this sort of play for hours. And hours. And hours. He amuses himself dropping balls and toys in the lake and bobbing for them. Very cute. Meanwhile, Nala the Ridgeback is inside on the bed enjoying her nap.
Awww looks like he had lots of fun. Whee hate getting wet so you wouldn’t catch us doing that! Have a great wheekend

Eko is amazing! Only one of our 5 RR’s over the last 18 years has not considered getting wet to be fatal (a problem in the wet Northwest), but Bomani, our unrepentant counter surfing rescue from the landlocked part of Texas, dove in to chase a duck that had been taunting him and almost got him before the duck smartened up and flew away. That was amazing enough, but he swam like an Olympic champ. We just lost him to bone cancer at only 8 years old, but we will always remember our purebred RR as a “Rhodesador.” He certainly swam like a Lab.
Well done, E. Once my ball went behind the big chair. It confused the heck out of me, but Mom helped me get it. You are a better problem solver than me….
Love and licks,
Great video! I had fun watching EKo figure things out. LOL Juley wouldn’t put a paw in the watch unless she has to. Have a great weekend!
Oh, yes!! We think sweet Eko is ready for scuba gear. 🙂 He is so smart and did a great job figuring out how to get his treasure. Great video Will. You all have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and nose kisses
Such a sweet video! And I completely agree on your advise to always have your camera handy. Just a few days ago, while I was walking Taylor, she became completely obsessed with a squirrel that was up in a tree! The squirrel must have been shouting obscenities at Taylor, or something, because she forgot about her walk and wanted nothing more than to suddenly have the ability to climb up trees and tackle the evil squirrel! And it just HAD to be the day when I forgot my smartphone! 🙁 I could have had some awesome video footage!
Eko looks like he’s having loads of fun!
Will you do not understand Eko is practicing apple bopping for Halloween 🙂
