[VIDEO] Penny, Meet Zero. Zero, Meet Mayhem Incarnate

Some introductions use handshakes and polite conversation, but where’s the fun in that? Penny and Zero found it much more entertaining to meet each other in paw-to-paw combat. It’s still early, but it appears Penny thinks her little bro has the mettle needed to join our crew!

Comments for [VIDEO] Penny, Meet Zero. Zero, Meet Mayhem Incarnate

  1. he is like a jack in the box when he pops out to jump at his sis….and your emeliy has a first row seat to watch the perfect show….seems that better than westminster :o) btw: what’s your bet for this year? I hope for a weim on the podium but that’s probably wishful thinking :o)

  2. Emmadog says:

Your two will be just like Bailie and Madison, a wrecking ball in motion most of the time. Chase and wrestle never gets tiring! The only difference is it took Bailie several days to warm up to Madison. At first she was terrified of her. Sometimes the wildpants do get out of hand, but for the most part, it makes my mom so very happy. Bailie loves little Madison and Madison thinks Bailie is the coolest dog on the planet. I can see Penny and Zero having a similar relationship.

  3. Victoria Coleman says:

well that brought back memories of Eko and Penny as a pup – such a wonderful friday video -loved the one at the end w/penny and zero cuddling together and Penny letting zero grab her collar. Nicely done!

  4. Connie Taylor says:

They are fast becoming the “Dynamic Duo”! Can’t wait to for the time Zero gets to meet Doc, and see his reaction to Zero. Have a great weekend

  5. Weims and Ridgebacks get no love at the big shows. Oh well, we’ll still cheer for them.

  6. It’s an adjustment, but one with all signs pointing in the right direction. It brings me so much joy to see these two romping together.

  7. Alecia, Dylan, & Rosie says:

That made my heart happy :o)

  8. Just the beginning, but I’m certainly optimistic about where these two will go from here.

  9. Doc did meet Zero actually and his reaction was pretty much, “Oh god, you got another one!?” But as always, Doc kept a stiff upper lip

  10. T&S says:

    We love this video

  11. Jan & Rusty says:

Love this video!! The beginning of a great relationship .. and I can’t wait for all the adventures to come. As always, Will, thanks for sharing with us.

  12. Jan & Rusty says:

I love Doc, too. Bless his heart.

  13. yep. maybe too much people saw Best In Show and think about Beatrice the Weimaniac when a weim enters the ring ;O)))

  14. cathwhistler says:

Love, love, love this video I really need a puppy!

  15. cathwhistler says:

(I only have 3 dogs and room for at least one more!)

  16. Thanks! Feels good to be sharing joy again.

  17. Aud says:

This video certainly brings back memories of Eko and then Penny the puppy, and I already can see a wonderful bond blooming between Penny and Zero. It was so cute that Zero’s attempts at nursing! Penny didn’t do that with Eko?

  18. Jo Rhodes says:

Zero has to be the biggest puppy I’ve ever seen! You guys are going to need a bigger apartment in about 5 minutes. I didn’t realize how big he was until I saw him standing next to Penny. I love how she’s not at effected by her brother. Eko would just sigh. OMG Will, you brought her home to live with us? Penny’s just, ” stay in your lane, kid.” This is great! More please!
Love and smiles, Jo, Sam and Dean

  19. coastingnz says:

Oh my gosh that was adorable on numerous accounts. May have looked rambunctious but you could also see Penny was very gentle. Those paws of Zeros though….. oh my oh my.

  20. TheRidgebackLife says:

I can’t wait to see video of Penny running circles around Zero. That should make the not-so-little pup dizzy. Neeka did that to Khoi the first day we had him. He’s been begging her to chase him ever since.
Thanks for making my Friday mornings so heart warming.

  21. Judy Petitto says:

This was so much fun to watch!

  22. Judy Petitto says:

I think that Eko has sent you a sign that he approves of your choice to give his sister Penny another brother.
Penny never knew life without Eko. She tried to breastfeed from him on her first day home, and despite that mishap, they only grew closer from there.

  23. Anne says:

Adorable to see their bonding beginning. Two of my 4 are liver nosed Ridgebacks, one’s the oldest and the other, the youngest. When we first brought him home, the look on Rango’s face was as if he had just seen his mini me doppelganger! The baby looooved him, but it was not mutual at first. For days, the new puppy, Theo, constantly chased him around the island in the kitchen, looking for a new playmate, but to no avail. Then one day the thaw began, and now days they are best friends that whine when they’re apart. Liver nosed Ridgebacks are know for being very smart, clownish, and mischievous at times. I love them all equally and love their unique personalities and individuality. I look forward to watching Zero and Penny’s friendship unfold. Also have you ever thought about doing a time lapse video on Zero’s growth pattern? It would be so interesting to see the, not so little, bugger grow into the giant we are expecting.

  24. MaryAnn Traylor says:

“When your heart aches, it’s time to get a puppy!”
I am so glad you followed that sage advice. Eko is irreplaceable, but Zero will help fill the void left by his absence. I can’t wait to watch Puppy Zero grow up under Penny’s tutelage! Keep those posts coming!

  25. OMG loved it!! Have to say Penny was an awfully good sport with Zero’s attempt at “nursing” too adorable…Penny had Eko as a fabulous teacher, she will be fine……he taught her so much about doggy love, she will pass that on for sure (((hugs))))

  26. Robyn Brown says:

So happy to see the puppy love and joy in your household again. Penny looks so happy! This is just what the family needed. God bless your beautiful doggie family. Have a fun weekend with those two entertaining you and Emily.

  27. Penny actually did try it with Eko, but only once – he made it very clear she wasn’t to attempt a second try!

  28. Well, Penny is a runt, so I’m hoping (maybe futilely) that Zero will end up on the lighter side of 100 lbs. This may be seriously wishful thinking. Penny is going to have a large bodyguard on hand either way.

  29. Haha the paws are ridiculous. Penny is training her minion to be quite the warrior.

  30. Anytime! We’re loving every brief moment of this puppy phase, but it should be a lot of fun when Zero can finally give Penny more of a challenge.

  31. It’s all come full circle for sure.

  32. I’m taking as many photos/videos as possible so hopefully I can get a nice timelapse going to track his growth

  33. Completely agree. Thanks for the encouragement!

  34. Penny’s going to certainly teach Zero a thing or two about brawling, if nothing else.

  35. (ALMOST!….but not quite) makes we want to get another puppy. Those times sure are special but as us old fart parents are inclined to say all too often, “they grow up so fast”. 🙂 Thanks for sharing Zero with us Will (and Penny).

  36. Totally loved this video. Was worth waiting for. I’m looking forward to more…more pictures, more video, more Mischief and Mayhem! (sounds like a wrestling duo, so it’s apt!)

  37. Fun with one…..trouble with two…..!! HAHA……those two were MADE for each other and so the circle of love goes on and on and on…………..great video.

  38. dogdaz says:

Wonderful vid of new beginnings. Congrats to all.

  39. One older puppy and one baby puppy, you guys are going to have a blast!

  40. This video made me so happy. I hope Zero fills a small portion of the large void Eko left in your hearts. ~Samantha

  41. David and Goliath is exactly what we’re seeing here! I’m pretty sure Goliath has met her match.

  42. That whole nursing thing was way too funny even if Penny took umbrage. I’m thinking Penny may well have met her match in the days to come as Zero grows and fills out those paws.
