[VIDEO] Surviving Puppy Teething

Penny’s teething was an especially tumultuous time for an especially tumultuous pup.  We survived, not unscathed, minus a few pieces of future, and are wiser from the experience. This time around with Zero we’ve used our experience, Penny’s relentlessness, and a bit of creativity to help get us all through

Comments for [VIDEO] Surviving Puppy Teething

  1. I’m sure you will survive the teething-phase in one piece :o)… but tetthing can be really teasing LOL.
we just started the puberty-phase and even if it sounds weird, I rather would have the teething thing again… it is as if someone replaced my fabulous pup over night with a gremlin who had a 5star menu after midnight….

  2. Victoria Coleman says:

here’s to be armed with knowledge and acting on that knowledge to make Zero’s and your life better!!!
Have a great weekend – looks like you got a good start napping on the couch w/the little pup

  3. Emmadog says:

Thankfully none of us every have had issues with teething. Mom barely even noticed it was happening. We are happy you still have all your personal belongings in tact!

  4. Congrats on surviving Zero’s teething time with a little [Ms.] Mayhem. You might want to consider trademarking Penny for other unsuspecting furmilies experiencing teething times. 🙂

  5. KarenS says:

Where did you get that fabulous toy? Even though my geriatrics are well beyond the teething stage, I can’t help but wonder if this could help give them some more stimulation. They have their moments of craziness, but always looking to give them more.

  6. wakefll says:

Will, be careful with ropes, a friend of mine’s dog swallowed a string and had to have surgery…thankfully she survived….I am such a worrywort no ropes at my house, I know you can’t prevent everything, but with my luck I don’t take a chance

  7. Jo Rhodes says:

My boys still love really hard plastic. Dean ate the casing of a retractable leash and pooped red for a week.
Sammy ate my couch. Yes, they had antlers, kongs, ice cube made of broth and sometimes my fingers. They’re still powerful chewers, but they only seem interested in chewing if there are food treats involved.
Thank God for Penny. I remember when Emily Put. Her. Back. In. The. Crate. NOW. I felt for all of you.
We’re still working on tooth brushing. Trying to make it positive, but still.
Yours toothfully, Jo, Sam, and Dean

  8. Kismet says:

What does the tooth fairy leave him?

  9. coastingnz says:

flippen adorable! Our Zigster was a chewer and like you say – lesson learned for next time. The jaw chattered by Penny in anticipation of the toy was hilarious!

  10. So glad that you guys made it through this one with a little less “redecorating” 🙂 Have a fantastic week-end!

  11. Yikes! That wiggle toy is amazing! Bye bye, baby teeth!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  12. Glad the alligator teeth are out but you aren’t out of the woods yet! Fingers crossed the big teeth coming in goes just as smoothly!

  13. Anne says:

As you and most of your experienced dog owners and followers know, the 2nd stage of teething is the worst! That’s when furniture can be destroyed and nerves will be shot! My advice is to just be aware and ready for this stage;always have a chew toy to offer when noticing your puppy about to help itself to your furniture. I am also a big proponent of crate training as a positive, never used in a negative way. In nature, canines are by nature den animals, and they naturally will gravitate towards a crate, especially one with a crate cover that creates more of a den like space. Hope this helps anyone that might need it. ❤

  14. Rikke says:

And must I say OMG! Zero is getting so big I’m excited to see his transformation todler to teen ❤

  15. Awe zero your a big boy now. Great video
