Neighborhood Watchdog

Ever since he was a puppy, Eko has loved sitting by the window.

There is a lot going on in the world and Eko doesn’t want to miss a minute of it!

Even after an adventurous day on the road Eko would unwind by keeping an eye on things outside our window

Thanks to a nice stroke of luck, my apartment in Chicago happens to be on the front of the building so that Eko can watch the world go by.  Eko is such a fixture at the window that a couple of neighbors once asked me about “that dog statue” in my window.  I recently moved a couch over near the window where Eko can now combine his two favorite activities – window watching and sunbathing.

Eko has been known to occasionally fall asleep on the job

And of course, I know immediately when Eko has spotted something good.  In this case, two of his dog friends out on a walk

It wasn’t until recently that I realized how much of a perk it is to have street-facing windows where Eko can pass the time.  And as if that wasn’t enough, I am also lucky enough to be the proud owner of a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

If you have a dog, you almost certainly own your own custom glass art too!

Is your pet a window aficionado?

  1. Gizmo’s nap spot is the top of the couch by the window where he can see all the walkers on the path around the lake across the street…He keeps close watch and lets me know when anyone interesting goes by
