Eko volunteered to run the video camera this trip
He got right to work with some on the ground reporting
Where he was joined by Penny, ever-eager for air time
Summer smells warm, feels soft and looks bright. Fall smells cold, feels hard and colors fade.
Regardless of season, Eko and Penny are ready to rompÂ
The long grass, once thick and lush, now cracked as Eko chased Penny through the brush
In warmer months the dogs dive into the thick stalks and I can follow them only by sound. Fall offers better views into the brush so I can just see the outline of the stalking predator.
The color fades but Penny certainly doesn’t
While Penny crashed through the thicket, Eko interviewed the locals
Like the final fall leaves clinging to a tree, Penny was reluctant to go
So she stopped at the souvenir shop on our way out and picked up some new socks
A crisp romp on a crisp day had Eko and Penny all smiles
Always nice to appreciate both where you are and when you are. Dogs are quite excellent at that, so as usual, I take my cue from them.
